LG 34UC80-B 34-Inch 21:9 Curved UltraWide QHD IPS Monitor with USB Quick Charge

I use this monitor as my primary display now. It has excellent color accuracy, it's a large, beautiful display, the latest drivers from Nvidia allow the use of G-Sync, AND this monitor can be overclocked to 75hz. This is a fantastic monitor, not just for the price, but in general. The only reason I would upgrade is if LG made a gaming monitor with the same specs, but a higher refresh rate and HDR. I got this for about $400 and it was definitely worth it. If you're a professional or color accuracy is important, I would suggest using a flat high-res monitor with even higher color accuracy. I use a 27" LG 4k monitor for this, it's mounted right next to this one. I can edit large timelines on the 34 inch display and then drag it over to the 4k display to check my work. Side by side, the higher color quality and deeper blacks of the 4k monitor is noticeable but not in a way that ruins the 34 inch in any way, otherwise I would be typing this on that monitor instead of the 34 inch. They're both IPS and from LG, but I believe the contrast ratio is higher on my 4k diplay, which would account for the greater contrast. 5/5 I highly recommend the 34UC80 for anyone who doesn't absolutely require a TN or VA panel for really fast-paced gaming.

Overview I am a photographer and videographer who got tired of 4 24" monitors (2 stacked on 2 configuration) and was looking for a replacement for all 4 monitors. I barely used the top 2 monitors because it was uncomfortable to look up for long periods of time. So I only used the bottom two for editing. I found this monitor by chance while watching one of the famous action videographers editing footage and kept my eye on it ever since. When I first discovered this monitor I think it was over $1,000 so I waited until recently to recheck the price. As soon as I saw its current $500.00 price it was a no brainer. I started to get two but decided I'd wait and see if one would suffice.The Good I've only had it for a few hours but so far this monitor is excellent in every way. As you can see by the attached picture I can now edit a video and have After Effects side by side, or work on graphics while monitoring a PP timeline. When I first did the math I did not think it was possible that a single monitor could replace 4 monitors (on paper I had way more resolution with 4 monitors) but the high resolution and 34 inches of screen real estate managed to exceed my expectations. The best part is no bar in the middle where the two monitors used to connect. The curve is a nice touch, I feel like it causes less eye strain because it feels so natural when looking at it. Also, if I do get a second one, together they will wrap around in a more natural way letting me use more of my peripheral vision vs. turning my head. I'm looking forward to using the USB 3.0 hub in the back, I'll be able to connect my media readers to it without having to use a USB port on my editing workstation.The Bad Ironically the only problem I have with this monitor is not even the monitor's fault. The one thing I have found so far that I do not like is that the stand does not let the monitor go all the way down until the monitor touches the stand. I keep my chair very low to the floor because I spend hours editing video and photography footage and I like my monitor just as low as my chair. It is annoying that I cannot lower it until it touches it's base. I may buy a 3rd party stand just so that I can lower the monitor further down. I need to add to the bad section after using this monitor for about a month. I finally got around to calibrating it and it does not allow you to set a manual white balance. I would have thought a monitor focused on the video creation and photographer community would let you set a manual white balance to make calibration easier. It's a minor thing and my Spyder still managed to calibrate it but it's still something LG could have easily provided.Conclusion Nothing short of amazing monitor. Time will tell if I need a second one, for now the first one fits my needs perfectly.

I agonized over spending money on a new monitor. I tend to do a lot of research prior to a larger purchase. I watched tons of YouTube videos and all the videos on Amazon. I had been leaning to this monitor but I was torn between it and the Dell (and other LGs). I can't compare to the others but after one day, I am loving this purchase. It's TOTALLY worth it.Computer Specs:I moved from a Dell U2410. I used both my HP dv6 and HP Spectre 360 with that monitor. The height is similar but the width is significantly larger and there is SO MUCH more real estate. The dv6 was a little fuzzy hooked up to this but it was still decent. I've decided to keep my dv6 hooked up to the old Dell monitor and use my newer computer (HP Spectre) with this monitor.Curved vs. Straight:I feel like the curve helps a LOT and I'm so glad I decided to go with a curved monitor. I'm not sure if this is the right word but it feels more "comfortable" than a flat monitor. I haven't had any adjustment time with that difference.Things I don't love/would change:The toggle switch/joystick at the bottom. It might be that I'm still in an adjustment phase but the controls on my Dell monitor seem much easier to use. It's not something that I adjust on a regular basis, so I don't want to base my rating off this. If I could, I would perhaps take off half a star. The joystick reminds me of a clickable pen. Turning your hand up and pushing from below is not a natural position if you are leaning forward on your desk. I don't have a disability but I could imagine that if I did, it would be EXTREMELY difficult to use. LG should change this.Summary:If you have a newer computer--DEFINITELY get this monitor. Text is crisp. The matte screen is bright and has many different options. I may come back and edit this review with some screenshots. I also need to check on color calibration. I'm a designer but am basing first impressions off of using Adobe programs and the benefits of the additional real estate.

Me encanta la calidad y colores de la imágen a pesar de no ser HDR. El tamaño es ideal para hacer múltiples tareas al mismo tiempo y dividir la pantalla para cada tarea. Las peliculas o series se ven súper bien al igual que los juegos. Las conexiones traseras son aceptables, con 1 DP, 2 HDMI y 2 USB. El soporte incluido no es bueno, es estorboso y solo permite ajuste de altura y un poco de inclinación, al final tuve que comprar un soporte que me permitiera liberar espacio en el escritorio y mover con libertad el monitor.

Perfect for graphic design and video editing. The quality is amazing. The stand setup is sturdy and really easy to silde and tilt. Best monitor I've ever used.You also get the option to switch the usb ports to quickcharge in the settings. Great for plugging in your phone.

This monitor is an amazing addition to any office setup. You have a ton of real estate for your tasks, aided by the built-in screen split modes.
