Works great for heat shrink!
This unit is basically a butane powered heat gun. I use it for heat shrink on a daily basis and it works great. It was a little bigger than I expected but still smaller than a heat gun. I have a Milwaukee cordless heat gun and never use it since I purchased this. I think it’s worth every penny.

If you need heat, this has plenty!
The contained the torch, the instruction manual, and a curved heat reflector. It did not come with butane. The fill port is on the bottom of the torch. There is no "window" to see how full it is. You keep filling until butane spills out the fill port. You won't know the fill status until it's empty. The fit and finish is good. With the pressed on foot in place, it stands upright fairly well. At full flame, it's far too hot to use with heat shrink tubing. It will blister it almost instantaneously. Fortunately, the gas flow is adjustable, and the lowest setting works well for tubing.

To good for the size
It gets too hot for my wiring job but does wonders on plastic.

plenty of details in my review and video.
The media could not be loaded. Latest update here on 2/12/21 - it works better than most. I used it about 5 hours a week for 9 months and now the ignition isn't working. Contacted them to see if they repair it or not. This thing lasted much longer than others, but they all break down. So, hoping they do repairs too.Breath of fresh air considering our current norm of mass-produced, cheaply made stuff that is overpriced and always breaks. This thing is heavier than you will expect which is fine. And it's loud. which is annoying. Can catch things on fire easily unlike electric heat guns which isn't a dealbreaker. Just be aware. The main issue for me is the fuel adjustment knob can't keep the thing lit when/if you try to use a low flame. Due to the way it is engineered or possibly the knob itself (could be a low-quality knob). So the gas must be all the way open all the time or the torch wants to go out. That means it's always super loud and wasting gas. You learn to deal with it but I want an upgrade.

Better than my Battery Powered Heat Gun
The media could not be loaded. I'm glad I found this tool! This is going to replace my expensive, heavy, battery powered heat gun in my toolbox. This heat gun gets hot quick! It's lightweight and I love that I can quickly refill it when it runs out of fuel, instead of waiting for a battery to recharge. The price is way better than my name brand battery unit too. I've been looking for the right cordless heat tool for a while now. So far this fits the bill.

It works, sort of.
This is basically a torch with an air entrainment/mixing tube. It makes lots of heat, but little gas velocity. That means poor heat transfer to the target. When heating shrink tubing I want high heat transfer to the tubing, without heating up the part that I am covering. That does not happen with such poor velocity, so I end up overheating everything to get the tubing to shrink. Better off with a lighter flame. The tool itself is solid and well made. It would work great if it had a small blower. Maybe I can rig something.Update: I tried shrink tubing on some plastic parts (covers on outdoor rj45 connectors). Melted the parts, and barely got the tubing to shrink. Very difficult to control part temperature. Also if I tip the gun too much it goes out. When the air is cold, it won't relight. Less hassle to run a cord and use a real heat gun. I will say that the HT-1000 is very good at melting parts, if that is what you are after. It is really sort of a soft focus torch.

Stopped working, no technical support
Amazon gets five stars for processing the return. When I received the item, I filled it with Good butane and it started right up. Great! A couple of weeks later I need to use the item and it would not start. Plenty of butane in the item but no spark from the starter. After multiple attempts, I called the manufacturer Master Appliance. No technical support. I could pay to have it returned and they would look at it. I then contact Amazon for a product return. Really was looking forward to a reliable product. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
