A Surprisingly Helpful Dog Grooming Hammock That Makes Nail Trims Easier
Anyone who has tried trimming a dog’s nails knows it can quickly turn into a bit of a wrestling match. That’s exactly why I decided to try this dog grooming hammock, and it ended up being a surprisingly helpful tool that makes grooming much easier while helping keep my dog calmer. *HOW I USE IT* I use this when trimming my dog’s nails or checking their paws. The hammock attaches securely and holds them comfortably in place so I can actually focus on grooming instead of trying to keep a wiggly dog still the whole time. *PERFORMANCE* The quality feels solid and the durability of the material seems good so far. The stickiness of the straps helps keep everything secure, and once my dog settles in, the hammock seems to have a bit of a calming effect. The noise level is basically nonexistent since there are no moving parts, and the color is neutral enough that it doesn’t look out of place. *VALUE* For anyone who struggles with grooming their dog at home, this is honestly a really useful tool. Considering the quality, durability, and how much easier it makes nail trimming, I think it’s a great value for the money. *PROS* • Makes nail trimming much easier • Strong straps that hold securely • Durable fabric that feels well made • Helps keep dogs calmer during grooming • Simple setup with no noise or complicated parts *CONS* • Some dogs may take a little time to get used to being in the hammock

Cute contraption
Super easy to use. I have a small puppy and it works well for her. Initially we had it on backwards but once we fixed it she was snug. I like that it had a Velcro strap to cross the back to make her feel secure and she can’t wiggle out of it.

OK but it's a 2 person job if the cat doesn't cooperate
The harness was soft and met the need but, for a 1 person job, you need a cooperative cat. Getting it's paws through was a challenge, with lots of hissing and scratched arms. Then, it's necessary to hold the 2 straps away from the unhappy cat's claws all the while getting the carrier to an appropriate location to hang the harness.. Plusses and minuses: A big minus are the metal hooks that are hard to add to the ends of the straps when your cat is literally having a hissy fit. Another is that the unit should, but doesn't come with a frame. A big plus is that the carrier is open at the top to either detangle tufts of fur and/or shave them off. It's also a great way to trim claws when the cat doesn't otherwise cooperate. Bottom line: It's OK and meets the need. If the cat is cooperative, it's a 1 person job. Otherwise, 2 people are needed.

Would be great if have a calm laid-back cat.
I have an 8 month old kitten I was wanting to trim her very sharp claws. I was unable to successfully get her in the bag. I will admit this kitten is feisty and after she drew blood 3 times when trying to get her in the bag I gave up. If you have a laid-back calm cat this might be great!

NOT FOR CATS
If your cat is docile enough to use this, you don't need it. The problem is that when the cat is tired of hanging there, like after 30 seconds, before even the claws on one paw are clipped, she will start to twist and wiggle. Once somehow on her side, she can pull a leg out. then you have a cat hanging halfway in. So you are going to have to attempt to get the hammock down with a not happy cat, still possessing some sharp claws, trying to twist the rest of the way out, with a minimal of your own blood loss. Maybe it works for dogs, but not for cats with claws. If you do want to try it yourself, wear eye protection and welding gloves. I would also recommend not doing it alone. Someone might have to call 911. This might work if there were a way to secure the cat in the hammock, but once they twist part of their body they can easily pull one leg out.

Great value and I have found it very helpful
Oh my God my kitty goes nuts when you try to clip her nails even the Vet struggle to get it done. This has been a wonderful tool to enable me to do it myself by hanging in the hammock. She loses her ability to push off and stop me from clipping her nails. The bite factor is still real however, it’s manageable great value worth a shot. If you have a cat like mine that hate your nails getting clipped.

"What's in the box?"
I searched carefully on the product page and couldn't find a listing of "what's in the box". This was the least expensive sling I could find. All the others included nail clippers and other items which I didn't want. I could find no clear indication anywhere if the hanging hooks and straps were included or the only item was the sling. Decided I can improvise the straps and hooks if needed because didn't want to spend more. Pleasantly surprised, the straps and hooks are included with the sling. (Check the photo.) The cats don't like it. But getting a cat into the sling and trimming the nails is MUCH faster than struggling nail by nail while trying to hold the cat. Another commenter mentioned the animal escaping. I may follow up with a head cover purchase. One cat REALLY didn't like it and tried to scratch and bite while in the sling. She escaped once. Then I put a large sock over her head. That calmed her so she didn't even try to escape again and I was able to complete the nail trimming easily because she stopped struggling. The other cat just complained about hanging in the sling but she didn't try to scratch or bite. Depending on your cat, if you need this to trim nails, you might be wise to consider a head cover too.

Awesome! All the happy customer buzz words!
I have a dachshund/maybe chihuahua or other small dog breed mix. Kind of looks like Santa’s helper from Simpson but with stubby stout legs. He’s awesome, so smart, so agreeable, and even the vet says… “he lets me do anything, until you get to those feet…” It is like he’s being tortured. We’ve tried treats, holding him like a baby, a nail grinder, two different types of nail clippers, wrapping him in a doggie blanket, a muzzle. None of it works. But his nails grow so fast and he had one nearly in his pad. The last time he was at the vet he came back a mess! His whole face looked red and his eyes were bloodshot. They sent us home with trazadone and I decided there has to be another option! Then my friend told me about this method and here we are. Just did our first trimming tonight, granted his face wasn’t one of happiness and excitement (more like paranoia and we did have to hang him off the door frame so he was a bit higher than some of the other dogs I’ve seen in pics) but I was able to trim all the nails with nary a whimper! So happy to have found this. Also pretty awesome that it comes with so many attachments and even decent nail clippers. Very satisfied!! Also a great price for everything you get but as the old Mastercard commercials go… “nail trimming without having to wrestle your dog….. priceless!!”

Not suitable for my cat
5 stars for quality. It was too big for my cat. He could easily squirm out of it. I returned it.

Works Well!
Honestly the only thing that has worked. I will say if your cat is on the smaller side, they can squirm out (even from the smaller size ones) so if you can have another person assist you, give them treats and hold them still when they start to get fussy. It’ll make it SO MUCH easier to cut their nails. I’ve tried a lot of ways and this worked like a charm. Super happy!!

Too small
Wayyyyy too small! Will not fit my 18lb cat. Maybe for a 5lb chihuahua.
