ACOPOWERBattery Temperature Fit for MPPT Charge Controller, Temp Sensor

Much more accurate than the sensor built into my charge controller, probably because it can be positioned directly on the battery case instead of measuring ambient air temperature. The connector plug wiring is a little flimsy, but has the advantage of making it easier to trim the cable to whatever length you need and reconnect it to the plug. After I shortened the cable, I put flexible sealant around the wires as a strain relief. Seems to be holding up after a few months use.BTW, it doesn't only work with MPPT controllers. It works perfectly (as verified by my IR temperature gun) with my Viewstar VS3024BN PWM controller.

First let me say I am not a solar wizard.With that being said, I can say that this charge controller is far superior to the PMW controller it replaced.The ability to charge battery bank is great. I have four 140W solar panels feeding seven 100 amp/hr sealedbatteries to power a GoPower 1500W inverter. The system will run a large stand up freezer all day long now where as before the inverter would indicate low input after a couple of hours.I’m not sure about the battery percentage reading as with 12.7 volts showing the percentage reading is at 65%. I don’t discharge the batteries below that. How long the batteries last after the sun goes down is a function of older batteries not the charge controller but I usual get about 5 hrs to discharge to 65% then switch to grid power.I hope this is helpful to anyone considering this controller. I am very happy with it.

All in all it does a pretty good job. The one major complaint that I have is that while the instruction manual states that it has the setting that it needs, it actually does not.The battery overcharge reconnect is unmodifiable, and is far too low.What this ends up meaning is that I'll trip my overcharge towards the end of midday, which shuts off my solar production and puts everything on the battery. Then it takes me about 2 hours to drain all of that down to the point where the system has a recognized that it's low enough to start recharging, but at that point it's late in the day and I don't have any solar power left... So my solar power is turning off at like 5:00 p.m. when it should be making it to like 7:00 p.m., and so I'm ending the day at maybe 75% of my battery, instead of totally full. It's quite maddening how one simple setting being excluded can change everything.

Installing this is a breeze! Just plug it in with cable provided. Setup is easy and fully programmable with our LifePo4 battery.It's nice having a display inside to view anytime.

Unfortunately purchased this for a travel trailer that has been delayed so I returned it....for now. I like that ACO is a USA based company. Virtually identical to many others available. Will buy again when trailer arrives.

What can I say? It is a temp probe. I'm sure of this one thing. It measures temperature..Oh to meet the Amazon review request, it is warm and cozy measuring battery temp in a solar system. :-) also easy to use, plug in. And tech support is unknown since it worksn

I haven't hooked it up yet but it was well packaged and feels like a quality product.

Great product, working exceptionaly well, amazon are great to deal with.

Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to try it out before the allowable return date. It did not work on Snre mc2450n10 solar charge controller.

Junk. Do not buy. It is inaccurate
