I LOVE these shelves and am so pleased with the quality. I literally almost cancelled my order after reading several negative reviews and am so glad I didn’t. And I hate taking time for reviews but want people to see how great they are. They’re super sturdy and can withstand the weight of all our books. I’m using them as home school shelves. They’re so much prettier than other cheap bookshelves- the trim makes it look way more expensive. Mine are true white- I know another reviewer received an off white but that wasn’t the case for me. Other reviewers also said there were 6 individual, difficult back panels and plastic pieces. They must’ve changed it because mine doesn’t have that, mine has 3 wider pieces (and I’m so glad there aren’t the cheap looking plastic pieces on mine). It was time consuming and mildly tricky, but no different than any other build your own furniture. My only complaints are that you can see the silver screws on the inside of the shelves and there’s a small gap on the trim of one shelf (all pictured in my review photos) but these wouldn’t cause me to hesitate purchasing. The depth of the shelf itself isn’t the full 11” but closer to 10”. The 11” depth includes the trim that kinda sticks out. It isn’t deep enough to fully fit every children’s book, but as you can see in the photos I posted it’s not a deal breaker. It does fit most children’s books fully. It’s very hard to find deep bookshelves that are also tall and these are deeper (and prettier) than like every other tall bookshelf I found (usually 9” deep). I definitely recommend!! I’ve gotten so many compliments on these.

I was a little nervous because some reviews. I managed to put it together myself. It was frustrating, I ended up assembling part of it backwards, I definitely should’ve just waited for my husband to do it because as a pro of furniture assembly I don’t think he would’ve had the same issues I did. Anyways, I would buy again because it looks great for the price. Shelves can hold a lot of weight, I put some of my old textbooks on it and there is no bending. Good storage capacity with the five shelves. It did wobble a little so we mounted it to the wall with the anti tip kit that was included. Five stars because it looks great, and even with a frustrating assembly I managed to get it done, someone with better with furniture assembly skills could probably have put it together no problem.

Looks nice but cheap material. Good value for the money

For me, this bookcase was easy to put together on my own. It is very stable and sturdy, holding lots of books on each shelf. I would definitely buy it again. I am happy with it.

The back of this thing is made of six panels that could have been two folded panels. Moreover, the panels are held together by these very ugly plastic strips that are visible when put together. I tried setting it up without using the strips but then the screw holes will show through. It is very difficult to get the back panels into the plastic strips. Assembly time states an hour total and I've struggled for 90 minutes to get the back pieces in. I'm looking into returning these.

Pros • Color as pictured - reddish hue to darker brown wood • Good overall height with 5 shelves • Fits nicely into space • Looks fancier than it is - the edges are really well made and make the shelves look sturdier and more expensive than cheaper shelves sold in stores • Fits together nicely if you buy more than one - we bought 2 and they look like one larger bookshelf when placed together. The sides of the shelves are completely flat so you can line them up together to make a pretty nice wall of shelves. • Easy to put together • Not too heavy to move around (without the books, of course) • Shelves are not adjustable - this is a plus in my book because other cheap bookcases with adjustable shelves always fall, break, or have missing pieces. These look stable and the shelf height is tall enough for my research textbooks. Cons • One shelf came with broken pieces - the back panel was completely cracked apart/broken and somehow each broken piece was taped to the styrofoam? Thankfully we were able to tape it together onto the back of the shelves with lots of packing tape but…that was very disappointing. • They have the same problem the super cheap ones have - the shelves are built the same way the cheap ones at the store are built. This means there are two main section, one stacked on top of the other. The middle where the two meet is very flimsy and the whole thing leaned a bit immediately after being put together. This was the case with our store bought shelves that we had to trash after 2 years of use - the frame just got weaker and weaker over time causing them to lean dangerously left/right. Hoping these have a longer stability. Overall: If you’re looking for a slight upgrade from the cheap, flimsy ones you can get in a store, this would be a good pick. It does the job and it looks much better, but ultimately it’s just as cheaply made as others.

Took me about 2 hours to do it myself, instructions say you need a buddy to help you put the upper half onto the lower half after you assemble them separately but if you want to do it yourself just assemble the upper half on top of the lower. A good chunk of that 2hr was putting in the back panels which are my only complaint about the assembly, the shelves on the back do not have predrilled holes so either drill them yourself or expect to waste a lot of time fiddling with screws. Overall the bookcase looks good and seems fairly sturdy, the shelves are held by 4 decent sized decent sized screws and 4 wood pegs, the screws go in about 1-1.5 inches into the shelf/walls and the pegs about 1 inch so these should be able to support a full shelf of books easily.
