Excelente producto

The best at this price..... and possibly the only option at this price depending on what size you're looking for....
I don't have bedbugs but I work at an institution that does (and that might as well laugh in the faces of any staff that gets them) I work with with disabled residents whom I have a good enough rapport with that I get a lot of not quite consensual hugs. Sweet, kind of, but unreassuring when they refuse to put their potentially bedbug infested clothing and linens on high in the dryer my employer provides them. I also have the most rascally service dog (my first ally bully breed mutt) who can be found at my workplace midday snoring loudly while napping on her back on the bedbug infested carpets. She waits until she thinks I am not looking and then she will try to cuddle up on the bedbug infested couches with whichever client smells like s/he has the worst hygiene Also, the ever non-discriminator she likes to try to cuddle with the sleeping homeless of San Francisco when we're out on walks. I give her a lot of baths but I'm still never sure. I wanted some piece of mind without having to dodge ever hug from my clients and have to keep my dog on leash at every park in city limits. My dog also has a bad habit of sneaking onto my bed and spite peeing in my bed after every time I kick her out for sneaking in. (She's allowed to be on the bed but only if I'm in it.) My current 15 year old mattress has an almost $50 Allerease Ultimate cover on it that was put on there one dog ago. That cover works well despite a small tear it got when I was putting it on that I had to tape up (the Allerease cover tore easily over a regular Full matress). The Allerease sleeps very cool, is highly liquid resistant, helped my allergies, was virtually undetectable below the sheets, and hadn't gotten any bedbugs despite the neatly taped up hole. WIN!Hence, when I tried to buy new covers for my brand new folding Full size foam futon base and my brand new Full size custom made Japanese shikibuton matress I was going to go with Allerease Ultimate again. However, those covers were much too big! There were limited options for low profile covers that protect against both bedbugs and rascal dogs and this was one of the few. I bought the Low Profile Full for my folding foam base matress. It didn't fit perfect and it did make it moderatetly more difficult to fold/unfold but it went on easy enough and was sturdy enough not to tear when I put it on by myself (unlike the Allerease). I put a high thread Queen size duvet cover on top it (queen size to account for folding and the fact it's thicker than a duvet) and slept on top of that for the first week or so until my custom-stuffed Full size shikibuton matress came in..It sleeps warmer than the Allerease despite being a thin foam matress on cement on the ground level of my loft. My last matress that had the Allerease Ultimate on it was a thick pillow top extra firm matress on a wood base in a loft that is ten feet up from my current sleeping spot. It hasn't been a big deal but it's significant enough to notice. It appears to be water resistant and likely waterproof. I don't know about bedbugs but I think it would probably deter them and I'm neither daft nor dumb nor daring enough to test that one. But it doesn't have a duct taped hole in it from putting it on by myself so it would probably work okay. This one is definately more sturdy than the Allerease Ultimate but it's more noticable to me. Thankfully, it's not a crinkly plastic so it's not too noticable. I notice but my bestie (who loafs on my matress watching TV) and my dates don't notice. The rascal dog who is easily the most pathetic service dog I've ever trained is scared lying on plastic tarping and so she either doesn't notice or her desire for sleeping in the big bed trumps it.I will admit I still like the Allerease Ultimate slightly better.... but the price is way better on this one, too. It also comes in low profile which I needed.I ordered it again, this time in Ultra Low Profile for my new shikibuton matress that just came in. Shikibutons are not thick like their American mattress cousins and despite my custom cotton/wool blend extra thick custom shikibuton order, my new matress is far more trim than it's cousins from out West. Indeed, a Sleep Defense System cover was pretty much my only option without dismal reviews off a very short list. I liked the last product well enough I was like, "Oh, what the heck."It's a four star product. However, with the price and shipping service I got when I ordered it from Hospitology I've decided it's close enough to five stars to round up.

Great encasement for the money - Some BED BUG info for you too!
Having worked in the hotel industry for 13 years, I know mattresses can get very dirty. When it comes to my house, I find a mattress encasement can do wonders. I purchased this particular one for a sofa bed mattress. Knowing that people spills things on sofas and crumbs fall into the cracks, I wanted to keep the mattress protected so my guests can enjoy a good night's rest. Here are a couple things to note in particular to sofa beds. This encasement advised it was intended for thinner mattresses. Other than standard size and sofa bed size, I am not familiar with a mid range unless we are talking toddler bed which is a completely different size. This encasement was a bit large on my double size sofa bed mattress, but this didn't bother me much other than a little tucking. The zipper is good quality and there is a strap to cover the zipper thus enclosing it completely. The material also seems of a good quality. Nice texture to the touch and strong. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that the item I received had mold growing on it. I had to wash it twice to get the mold out. This could have been a fluke with moisture in the plastic bag, but it proved that the fabric could attract mold if left in a dark humid place.BED BUGSI did want to say a few things about bed bugs since I have experience in this area. They are a nuisance and thus why they are pests, but don't be alarmed as they do not transmit disease. They do bite and are attracted to blood. They prefer humid dark places to live and breed. They only become active when there is no movement around them and generally shy away from light. If you want to inspect your bed of bed bugs, check all edges of your mattress, flipping the seams. Flip your mattress and check the other side's seam. Check box springs and any openings in the fabric. Finally check carpet edges near bed. If you find small brown spots, this may be a sign they are nearby. Finding a single bed bug is enough to take action. There are two ways to treat/exterminate. Chemical and heat treat. I would highly recommend calling a professional exterminating company. I would NEVER recommend using an encasement like this to trap them and go about your life. Bed bugs will not easily die from being in this encasement. This could just cause them to breed even more and the moment you get a tear in the encasement, you will have a large infestation. Do yourself a favor and treat it. Bed bugs like living in and around fabrics, so you may need to have your cloth and anything else that is fabric treated. No, you don't need to throw away your mattress, there are solutions to bed bugs. Yes, this encasement can help prevent future incidents.
