12 Oz Canvas Drop Cloth 4x12 ft Commercial Grade Heavy Duty Tarp

This is some heavy fabric and that’s what I wanted to make some basic drapes for a reasonable price. There’s no seams in the four packages of 9x12 size I ordered. They aren’t all exactly the same size, but my need was for making 11 foot long drapes so the various sizes didn’t matter. If I ever make these drapes again, I’d opt for the next lower weight. These are big and heavy and were not easy to wash and dry due to size and weight. I imagine the lower weighted option would have made sewing them a bit easier. Live and learn… but for canvas drop cloth overall, these are an excellent choice!

Was looking for a heavy duty canvas tarp to solely use inside. Read and reviewed alot of them on this site and ended up choosing this drop cloth. Only used once so far but was impressed with the tightness and consistency of the weave. Be careful of the listed weight of any product. Some are seemly more heavy/thicker by weight but you have to consider if they are coated. Usually can use outdoors then.

This product exceeded my expectations. It's a 12 oz heavy duty 100% cotton canvas tightly woven drop cloth. The weave is smooth and not at all see through. It would be good for many different applications. I'm using it for a civil war rainfly to cover my tent. I will be able to add grommets and loopholes with twill tape as needed to secure this canvas tarp over my tent. I feel that this is a very versatile product for various applications.

I bought this canvas drop cloth because it was the only 12oz canvas that I could find easily..... ------ Here are my opinions on this canvas.... 1--This canvas is so economically priced that you can try it for yourself and even if you don't like it you aren't out great bunches of money...(unlike some others I have seen) 2-- The ends are folded over and seamed but the long edges are not... There is a MINOR waver in the edge cut but it isn't enough to make any difference to any of my project plans. 3-- There is a mild "canvas" smell but it isn't a problem for me and shouldn't be for others unless they have a VERY sensitive nose. 4-- I bought the 4' x 15' canvas and this will be enough for several projects that I want to do without excessive waste... In other words, I didn't have to buy more material than I needed. 5-- The small piece of canvas that I used for an experiment seems to take my home-made "wax" compound well.. I will update this review when I have made some pack-boots and a couple of other things from this material. --------- My Conclusions--------- This canvas looks like it will fit my "crafting" needs very well but I was e-mailed for a review before I had a chance to do more than look over the original piece and test a small sample for strength and "chemical" absorption. I subtracted 1 star for being contacted for a review.... I DO NOT like being asked about something before I have a chance to test/use it. ----- A " PACK BOOT " is a piece of canvas or leather sewn into a "cup" shape that will fit over the bottom of a pack and protect the bottom form wear against the ground or rocks.... We used to use them all the time when I was younger and in MY opinion, some of these "rubber" coated dry-packs that are used for canoeing now-a-days could use them on their bottoms as the packs are expensive and that "rubber" stuff looks like it will wears-off quickly with hard use... Again, just MY opinion.

I bought this canvas to use as a pastry cloth. The super tight weave is the best thing. I used minimal extra flour. No sticking and it washes beautifully. I will recommend this to my fellow bakers! I covered my whole bench with it. I'll buy another to use for my batons. Excellent value for money. This will last for a very long time.

OK, as I was reading the reviews for this product, I noticed a lot of people whining about the product, as they were trying to use the product (canvas drop cloth) as a source of canvas for a different project, rather than as a drop cloth/tarp. Go ahead, and do that, but don't belittle the product when you try to use it for something other than intended. I'm a contractor, have been in/around the industry for 40+ years. I've used and purchased plenty of tarps. While I think it's bad manners, I have NEVER seen a tarp that was the EXACT dimensions it's advertised as. Usually, on the package, it will say what it's 'final' or 'actual' dimensions are, but I saw nothing about this on the product page here on Amazon. Historically, a tarp would be 3" smaller (in each direction) than the 'advertised' size. (and this is explained on the package) This occurred as the mfgr would cut the raw canvas to the 'advertised' dimensions, and then on each edge, they would hem (fold over and sew) each edge to prevent unravelling. I ordered two (2) tarps, at the same time, same order, 12x15. 12 oz weight (thickness) as I'm using them as a protective tarp. The long end, they measured 14'4", and 14'3". (this edge was hemmed) On the short end, they measured 11'3" or so, and those edges were NOT hemmed. Also, the ones I got did not have any seams, anywhere. Is it heavy, and 12oz weight? Sure feels like it. Is it as-advertised? No. Does it follow 'industry standard' sizing? No, not even close. Tarps this size/weight are a bit harder to find, so my local stores did not have them on the shelf. The prices were pretty close to the stores. But, I needed them for a particular job, and so I came to Amazon. Part of why I picked this brand, was it's advertised as 'small business', and gambled that I might get better sizing than the other reviewers had. Packaging says it's made in India, so hard to think this would qualify as a 'small business' if they're importing in large quantities from another continent. Buy if you wish, but I've tried to offer a detailed account of the product I received, compared to industry standards for this type of product. In hindsight, I wish I would have purchased from a store that carries more consistent professional products. After opening them, and spreading them out, I didn't have time to go source different ones, and return these.

I purchased the 12oz 9x12 canvas to use to build a canvas tent. So far so good. The thickness of the canvas is uniform throughout the entire area. I’m still in the build process of the tent but I donot for-see any issues with the quality of the canvas. If needed I would reorder this exact item

These are made very sturdy and are 100% cotton which is great considering many of the tarps out there are mixed bag of fibers
