Didn't work effectively for me....3 days later my white roots came back, same like the other brands I have been using, just that they re far much less expensive....

It covers completely and the consistency was just right, Goldilocks if you will. Not too runny but not too thick. The second time washing my hair, no color went down the drain like with other less expensive kits. You get what you pay for.

I have been dying my hair at home since I was 14 (I’m 36) so I’ve pretty much tried it all. I have been late to the party on Madison Reed because I just didn’t think it could possibly be all that different than any other home dye. I’m happy to say I was wrong. I’m thrilled with the results. My hair is incredibly soft and healthy, even after I lightened it first. The formula is the texture of a thick body lotion when you apply it, and it spreads very nicely and clings to every hair - there is basically no smell. My literal only complaint is I really hated the smell of the shampoo and conditioner that came with it, but that’s a small price to pay for the quality of the rest of the experience.
