Great!
I must have changed many dozens of fill valves in my lifetime. This one was the easiest ever and has several features that set it apart. I won't repeat them in this review; read the description. The tank cleaner feature works, but it hasn't finished the job yet; I wasn't that interested in that feature to begin with. Some have stated that it is noisy. The noise occurs only during the flush stage, when the tank cleaner floods the tank. It lasts only briefly. Not an issue for me at all..

Good fill valve with cleaning/water-saving features
The Hydroclean HC660 is a replacement toilet fill valve that fits most toilets. I used it on an older American Standard toilet tank installed in the 1980s. It fit fine and cured the problem with the old fill valve, namely the tank was taking FOREVER to fill (over 10 minutes!). Now it takes about 90 seconds to fill, a vast improvement. THE GOOD: + Hydroclean tubing & nozzles agitate the tank while filling, allowing sediment to drain out with the next flush. This is the main benefit of this valve, which supposedly keeps debris/sediment from accumulating on the flapper (which can cause leaks since the flapper doesn't seal properly). + The next benefit is that there is a mini-valve which allows adjustment of the water flow to the overflow tube i.e. the amount of water that fills the bowl after flushing (during tank filling). You can restrict the water flow so that less water fills the bowl - the theory is that many bowls are actually overfilled during tank refilling which wastes water. + The nut that tightens and attaches the fill valve to the tank is designed to "click" as you tighten it so you don't accidentally overtighten and crack the tank. Instructions suggest tightening 1 to 3 clicks (I did 2 clicks). You don't even need a wrench or other tool to tighten this nut. + You can adjust the height of the fill valve to fit your tank (when installing) and also easily adjust the water fill level by turning a knob. + There is also a "float lock" so you can stop the tank from refilling without turning off the water supply to the toilet. This is useful for repairs (for example when replacing the flapper) and is more of a convenience rather than an essential feature. THE BAD: - Compared to an "old style" ballcock fill valve (i.e. the ones with the air-filled ball float) the fill valve feels a little plastic and a little flimsy. However this may just be the difference in old vs newer construction. (Hope the plastic is stronger than it looks) - The instructions mention a "cone supply washer" & "water supply nut" which were not included (for me anyway). I did not need these but am just mentioning it. OVERALL, I would recommend this fill valve. It is very similar to the cheaper Fluidmaster 400A Anti-Siphon Toilet Tank Fill Valve (which does not include the Hydroclean or mini-valve features so you might want to buy the Fluidmaster instead if you don't care about those features). I would suggest taking the opportunity to also replace the flapper in the toilet at the same time you change the fill valve since it can cause water-wasting leaks (and generally has to be replaced every couple of years anyway). REMEMBER: Do not use chemical "in-tank" cleaners as they can damage plastic parts! UPDATE: Finally failed after 8.5-9 years, will not stop filling despite valve rubber replacement. However even before failure the tank fill speed was slow (much slower than the 90 seconds when originally installed) so I was going to replace it anyway (and there were no blockages anywhere that I could see). I hope this has been helpful!

Wish I Knew About This Earlier
This Danco unit stands alone compared to other fill valves. I originally purchased one to replace the leaking valve in our guest bedroom, and was pleasantly surprised with the ease of installation and fit. What sold me was the in-tank cleaning line and adjustable bowl fill valve. Price was lower than other similar units, which led to be purchasing a secondary one for our master bathroom. There has been no signs of leaks since installation as well.

This is how it should work!
This device has been absolutely engineered to make its installation as simple as possible. From the fins on the bolt to prevent over-tightening to the easy shut-off on the fill lever, this thing is pretty great. Ships with fantastic instructions, and makes sure you're not wasting a drop of water. Our home has intense water pressure that has been more than some other brands have been able to deal with, even with the valve halfway open. (I could install a pressure reducer, but it's not THAT high.) This device lets us operate with the valve fully open and fills fast. It's not the most quiet fill ever, but who really cares too much about that anyway? This thing does a pretty remarkable job of blasting the sediment out of the tank and keeping your boltheads clear too. That's significant if you have hard water (we do!) I read in another review that there was nothing special about their flapper, so I went ahead and ordered this one as the one with the flapper wasn't Prime eligible. No tools are required for install. The way it helps you maximize your water usage is by 1) Making the fill adjust incredibly easy to deal with. There's a picture about initial setting (flush with the top of your tank) and then a thumbscrew for fine adjustment. 2) Most of the water is wasted by what the fill system dumps down the overflow tube to fill the bowl after flush. This kit includes instructions for fine-tuning that fill to make sure it doesn't overfill that bowl and get flushed by the system. Highly recommended. Do it.

A True Money Saver!
An easy to install, quality made product that will save most users money through a lower water bill. To check your need for this unit: 1. Pour clean water into your toilet bowl to establish the level needed for a water seal in the base of the bowl. Make a pencil mark at this point. 2. Carefully remove the tank cover and observe the small tubing that is going into the larger over flow tube. 3. Flush the toilet and notice when the water level in the bowl reaches the point where you made the mark. All water flowing "into the bowl" after this point is wasted down the drain. You must observe the slight trickle in the bowl, and not confuse the water flow that is filling the main tank. 4. Now imagine if you had a valve on this small tube that you could adjust the flow, and only allow the proper amount of water needed to establish a seal. That's exactly what the MJSI HC660 does. The fully adjustable valve allows you to adjust the amount of water that goes through the small tubing. If you add the Hydro Clean Tube feature, it also keeps your tank clean on the inside. A very worthwhile product and is fully adjustable as far as water level in the tank goes and allows you to close off the water supply by the float lever, rather than the external valve, that usually starts leaking after being used. I have purchased and installed three of these units in my home and am totally satisfied with their performance and quality. Highly recommended. R. E. W. R. E. W.

Hyped
LOL, I bought three of these Jan 7, 2011 and installed them about two weeks later. I have been very satisfied with how well they work. They are quiet and fill very rapidly. The clean feature is very suspect, however. I don't think that most people will find the need for the feature. I like the vertical float and the adjustability. The flow out of the micro valve is a croc. But the unit works. Jan 2014 - The units with the heaviest usage are leaking over the top of the standpipe even though properly adjusted. They turn off at the right spot but the water continues to flow at approximately the same volume until they either over flow or get real close to the top. Then the water finally stops. It occurred to me that the rubber seal might be worn so I put some silicone grease on them. The two that weren't overflowing both seem to be working properly (only one of them was failing by not shutting off right away, the other was ok yet). After the grease, these two continued to function but the failing unit (the one used the most) stopped overflowing for about three flushes, but then started to overflow again. It still allowed water through for several seconds after the float 'flipped' the switch, but stopped before the water overflowed the standpipe. I just happened to have a FluidMaster 400 that I bought about the same time (in case I didn't like these) so I stole the washer out of it and installed it and it worked - except that water flowed profusely out of the top of the valve. I have the older style with the blue cover that pops off so with the cover off the water was like a bidet. I just put the cover on and it worked, shutting off at the right point and everything. I didn't like that so I pulled it apart again and compared the two rubber seals a little more closely - the FluidMaster seal is a tad less thick than the Hydroclean. So I put the seal back into the FluidMaster and installed it in place of the Hydroclean and washed my hands of the whole thing. Enough already - I think the hype about all the advantages of the Hydro are a bunch of BS. I'll bet I wasted more water due to the overflow of the one than I ever saved over the three years I had all three installed. But I did get three years of use. The originals lasted only 5 yrs and these aren't dead yet. They should sell parts and have info on how to overcome the problems. I studied the website and if I used their instructions, I would have destroyed my units. I apparently have an older unit than the one they describe. The blue top on mine has to be removed and then a little stop lifted to turn counter clockwise to get at the rubber seal. The blue top is quite hard to get off. The seal has a lip that is about 3/4" in diameter that you can hook with your fingernail and the whole seal slides off the little pin. I do like the float arranged the way the FluidMaster 400 and this unit have them, but for twice the price, the Hydro isn't worth it to me. We'll see if the FluidMaster lasts three years, but if it doesn't I can buy the parts for it at the hardware store.

Easy installation turns out I love the cleaning tube idea.
I wasn’t sure about the tank cleaning tube but boy does it ever do a good job or keeping the sediment from accumulating in your tank. Easy to adjust for water level installation was a breeze reasonably quiet. Really pleased with design

OEM replacement but needs to be changed out every few years
This is a direct replacement for the valve that came in our American Standard 3L/6L dual flush toilet. It installed with no difficulties, also the pieces are made to offer an exact fit. Unlike another reviewer here, I had no problems getting the nut tightened on the underside of the bowl. There is ample room on that toilet bowl to get an expanding wrench on the nut if one is not able to just hand tighten it. For me, I was able to do it by hand as the seal used at this joint is pliable enough to make a drip-proof seal without needing to use any tools. The only thing I needed to modify, and this is specifically because of the toilet bowl, not a problem with the valve kit, is the filler hose length. It comes longer than I need, but it's a very simple job of cutting it back and then slipping on the water deflector end. The only negative thing I have to say is that this is the second replacement I've had to but in the last five years. The upper section where the float is has a tendency to jam on the tube it rides on. I've tried to determine what's causing it to bind, but there is nothing obvious. Due to it binding lower down, the flush valve, which is located at the top, does not close, so water keeps draining down the overflow tube. If it wasn't for the fact that it only lasts a few years, it could be a 5-star item.

WOW!!! Very happy with this W.C. Tank fill system.
5 minute to install {after10 minute to get the old one out.} Ease peasy to install I put a small stone on the 90 Degree bend to keep it all down and stable in the tank base. Working better than ever .
