This is a good light-duty solution for those pesky doors you keep leaving open. Closes slowly, and not fully if you want it cracked.

Did not have the strength to close the door and broke after a few days.

The closer was smaller than I imagined when I ordered it but once I figured out how to complete the installation, it worked fine. The instructions I got with mine were no larger than a business card and not very clear as to how to mount and adjust the unit. I had to figure that out by looking at other reviews.That's why I only gave it 4 stars. The fit and finish of the closer is very good and it does work as intended when properly installed and adjusted. I like it and would recommend it to other mechanically inclined buyers.

It has 4 different holes in the base that can be used for tension and overall does the job. The caveat for me is the door I put this on doesn’t necessarily need to be fully closed so this works good for that purpose but I’m not sure the spring mechanism would be enough to shut a heavier door all the way.

I ordered this for my inside garage door which is solid wood. The door closer might work on this door, but I would have to make so many modifications that it isn't worth the time. The screws that come with the closer are about 5/8 in. With the amount of tension, I would have to build into the closer and the small screws, I think there is a good likelihood that the screws would just pull out of the door molding.The closer is clean looking and I think it might be better for a lighter door that is easier to close.

My wife wanted a closer put on our 3 season porch door leading out onto our deck. She is a afraid that bugs or flies or lizards will dart inside when she carries arms full of things in or out whenever her hands are to full to immediately close the door. But the design of the door and its frame is such that a standard door closer will not fit there. So I thought I would have to fabricate a custom bracket to make it work.Then I came across this little door closer. It is neat and compact and weatherproof. Using the included lever it’s closing force can be adjusted. We have ours set to softly close the door without latching it so that we can’t get inadvertently locked out.As you may have noticed in my photos, I painted ours white to match the surrounding door and frame. Plus it comes with a small adhesive backed metal plate to protect the door from the tiny wheels which push the door closed.The only thing to be careful to observe during installation is the stamped arrow on the middle section of the closer indicating on which side the door should be.The only negative I have found was one of the included screws twisted in two during the installation, but that was before I enlarged the other holes I predrilled in the aluminum door frame.My wife likes it, so I am happy with our new door closer, too. And I would choose this model again if I needed another one.
