Seasoning foods

Well packaged in a presentation style hard cardboard (very wood-like) box with individual slots for each flavor. The box works so well that we use it on the counter, with the lid folded back to make a stand, keeping them handy.We use them on a fairly regular basis. We already used extra virgin olive oil for a lot of our cooking already but these flavors are great for adding that little something to our meals.With the variety of flavors in this kit, it is not hard to come up with creative ways to use them. Each bottle starts off with a base of delicious organic extra virgin olive oil. Then they added the extracts. The kit includes garlic, basil, chili pepper, lemon, and orange. I was surprised at how clearly the flavors and scents come through when mixed with the oil. You don't necessarily need to see the label. Just open the cap and sniff. You will instantly be able to identify the flavor.For many of our recipes, these oils are used either to supplement or to replace an ingredient entirely. For others, namely spicy recipes, the chili pepper extract oil is used to give it that little extra "kick."We used some in a fish recipe that required lemon the other day and the delicious meal was a huge hit with the entire family. As a matter of fact, I can't think of a meal we've used these on so far that has been a flop, but my husband suggests that could be due to recipe selection and exceptional cooking skills.All-in-all, I think this set would be a great addition to any kitchen.

I am fairly new to using flavored olive oil. I really feel like I have been missing out all these years by only using standard EVOO!!!!! This collection really opened my eyes to so many more flavors!You get five different varieties to try - orange, lemon, garlic, basil, and chili.Before even trying the oils, I was impressed with the way everything was packaged. Each was securely and carefully placed inside a size appropriate box in its own little slot. Shipping can be brutal on glass and these arrived in perfect condition due to how well they were packaged before mailing.We have been experimenting with the different oils and they are all so good. The infused olive oils really do kick up the flavor of the food they are cooked in. WOW! My husband absolutely loves the EVOO infused with chili. He loves spicy food and while this isn't flaming hot, it does add some heat to the dish. We have used the orange, lemon, and basil EVOO to create our own marinades/dressings and to cook with. The flavors are strong and genuine. Nothing about them tastes artificial.I love everything about this collection. I absolutely LOVE that no artificial additives or pesticides are used to make these and that they are made in Italy!Overall, I am extremely pleased and impressed. The only thing missing would be a quick guide to how to use the oils for beginner cooks or a little guide to let you know what flavors pair best with each flavor.Top notch collection that would make a great gift!

For the price I paid for the set very disappointed in that one of the oils leaked all the box they came in. Very disappointing.

These arrived very fast and were well packaged.We immediately opened the garlic olive oil... because it's garlic. It's well balanced and has been great in various pasta dishes and basically everything else.The basil infused olive oil was the second one we opened and it too was delicious. The basil was strong enough to be detected upon opening the bottle, and the basil taste is strong enough to resonate in meals that require herbaceous flavors. The color was slightly more green than the garlic infused olive oil.The chili infused oil is distinctly red with a spicy aroma. I didn't need to use too much of this with my pastas as it leaves a nice and subtle burn. It's also great with Thai stir-fry and curries.The lemon infused oil has a strong aroma and the taste is comparable to lemon rind; astringent and bitter. A dab'll do ya with this one. It is best in salad dressings and seafood meals. We're still experimenting with it.The orange infused oil is best described by my fiancé who eats oranges in large quantities. It tastes like the pith. The pith is the white part of orange between the meat and skin; not truly astringent and bitter like the rind, but not sweet like the fruit flesh. He immediately put some in his beard because he loves the smell. We're still experimenting with this one as well. So far, it's been used in a beet carrot salad... and a beard.All in all, these are oils are made in Italy, clearly with a lot of care. We can taste the love. Great job, Costabile!
