Nutrex Hawaii, BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin 12 mg, Boosts Immunity and Supports Eye, Skin and Joint Health, 90 Count

I was working in an elementary school and constantly sick due to kids sneezing and coughing on me & not covering their mouths. Germs were everywhere there. I did research on boosting immune health & found this product. Within just a few months of taking, I felt better. Whenever I felt sickness coming on, it went away rather than worsening. My husband has always been one to be more susceptible to illness, so he started taking this too. It's been two years & he never gets sick. He calls this his miracle pill & takes one every night with dinner. He said he can't live without it and thanks me for finding it. It is expensive, especially for both of us taking, but I believe it has saved us time and money the doctors' visits were costing. Sometimes in the hotter months, the capsules stick together in transit. Not the best, but I've had success banging the bottle against a hard surface & the capsules separate without bursting. If they didn't, I'd ask for a refund.

This product, as others have noted, turns your skin brown-orange. It is not a lovely summer tan. Also, if you have been trying to reduce the appearance of indigenous brown spots in your skin, forget it. This product accentuates them and brings them back. I have not observed any other effects that could be attributed to the advertised advantages. of oxidation. So, I would not buy this again.

My Mom says this will get you comments on how young you look. I've just started, so we will see.

Update: 6/12/2026 I did get back up to using the 12mg. Went one week on 4mg, then next week on 8mg, now on 12mg no problems. Will have to see if there’s any improvement on bloodwork. Ps. Not tan, wasn’t expecting to anyway. But, you know other brands are saying that’s an added bonus. I just want some health improvements. Sometimes that takes months with supplements. I started with the 12mg. Got severe headaches, pain with bloating, and diarrhea. I have Hashimoto’s and really wanted this to see if it could help with symptoms at all. So, just ordered the 4mg bottle. If it works, I’ll try to adjust the dosage up in increments. Two days after stopping the 12mg: I did notice one thing for me. It actually helped my eyes not be so dry and crusty in the morning. Because that had come back. I will update later, only been on the 4mg for 2 days. Fingers crossed !
