I ordered four of these to protect an obviously very vulnerable bush on my property. Deer hate shiny things and mosaic balls I have from years ago (elsewhere) are still serving their purpose very well. I had high hopes that these would be just as nice and effective.Well...I don't know if they'll light up the way they're supposed to yet but I am so impressed with them that I wanted to do a review right away. (If they don't work right, I'll amend this review.) They're prettier and better made than my old ones: the two pieces of stake screw together, not just insert shallowly and the mosaic pieces themselves are solid in appearance, not stuck on like mosaic. The solar pieces are sturdy. And the stakes that go into the ground...be still my beating heart...are double to prevent tilting/falling over. I just ordered four more. (the multicolor) Note: even if you have them in the shade or the solar part fails, they will still repel deer. Trust me on this...I have "deer candy" bushes that are protected by mosaic balls that haven't lighted for years.

It is a soft glow and with multiple lights you can create some lovely effects

Nice, bright light. Could be brighter but it is nice at night. The colors are very pretty.

Wish the gazing ball was a little brighter in the evening.
