WEN ME210G Metric and Imperial Metal Thread Pitch Multi-Gauge with Carrying Case, Two Pack, Black

I had bad experiences with Wen products in the past so I was hesitant to try this. I was pleasantly surprised. Seems fairly accurate and doesn't take up much space. The material seems light and sturdy and it was affordable. I use reclaimed fasteners a lot so determining size and pitch at a glance is incredibly useful. Only time will tell the markings continue to be legible but for now the high contrast of black and white make it easy to read and looks pretty slick too. It also comes with a leather carrying case which I thought was a nice touch.

This worked well to easily identify the size, length, and tread size of a screw. It was just what I was looking for.

I use mine all the time. definitely worth the price. it's nice to be able to size screws without having to drive all the way to hardware store. Very durable. It seems like a good quality metal. The markings are very clear. Precisely milled. Very easy to use.

This set is very nice. My only complaints are that the pop out piece in the middle does not stay in one of the plates and that there is no accompanying diagram to tell you what each feature is for. Some of them are obvious but others weren’t. At least not to someone who doesn’t work with this type of stuff on a regular basis. I would have never realized that one was a wire gauge. Loads of features on these plates.

No this is not a plastic item.This tool is metal with etched info and not painted.For the cost of a burger and drink, you get a valuable tool that will last a life time. Believe it if you are in need of a tool that helps in many ways to know what is right or wrong if used properly.Has several features that are very accurate.The thread gauge is cut perfect and fits the correct thread perfect. Love the tool and highly-highly recommend. Comes with a nice tool case to. Why get plastic when quality metal is available.For the cost of the 2 tools,it can’t be surpassed in any way.I have bought junk tools before and this won’t be on my list.Gets top drawer in shop.

I have some plastic thread gauges. Ok for course threads but on fine threads the gauge is too thick to get down into the threads properly. These are thin metal but stiff enough. The treads are accurately made. Markings are easy to read. Will measure a bunch of things but I got it for the threads. I had a fitting with M14 straight threads but nothing would fit it. Took this and determined it was M14-1.0. Who knew that was even a thing but it is. Saved me a lot of aggravation. All happy to have them after that.

Handy gauges for measuring screw sizes and hole sizes, thicknesses, and angles. Handles most common household and automotive screws; it isn't intended for big industrial and tiny electronics screws. Nice heavy metal, with a soft case to keep them from getting scratched. Not sure what metal it is, seems too heavy for aluminum, but not attracted at all by even a strong rare-earth magnet. There are other kinds of screw gauges that might work better under some conditions, but these do their intended job nicely.

Perfect when not 100% sure on sizes ! Take away the guessing

These are really handy gauges! I find myself using them several times per week. They are thick enough to feel solid, but not clunky. And they come in a nice case. The thread pitch gauges are handy, because they are all accessible at once. You don't have to fiddle with those traditional folding thread gauges. However, you still need to keep the old ones, because these guys, as cool as they are, can't get at the threads on all types of screws. The hole gauges are kind of slick, the way they store in a slot in the middle of these things, held by friction. They do fall out when you are handling them. It's probably better to store them separately in the case so you don't lose them. Overall, I am very happy with this product!

Nearly everyone who uses a tool has to deal with fasteners, such as screws, bolts, and nuts, and with other small cylindrical objects such as drilling bits, shafts, and dowels. If you are careless about their many measurements, such as thread teeth per inch, inner and outer diameters, head size, etc., you will have trouble or make trouble (often weakening the thing you are working on). If you are not careless about these things and try to get by with tape measures and rulers, you will probably waste time when you have little time. If you use a weell designed and well made measuring tool for these things, like this set from WEN, you will get these things right in much less time. What separates this set from others in its category are that this set is strong metal, easy to read, pocket sized, and complete. The design is seriously smart, and fairly intuitive. It comes with a pouch, which is handy. Careful not to lose the triangular pop outs though. A bit of electrical tape will help with that. (Found out the hard way.)
