Jonathan Green Love Your Soil - Lawn Food for Hard Soil Lawn - 15,000 Sq Ft

I normally don't bother writing any reviews, but I'm going out of my way to recommend this product. It saved me over a thousand dollars by restoring my clay-infested lawn. It took two or three applications, but my grass has never looked this good.

I hate grass; hubby loves it. Compromised w/extended flower beds replacing some of the grass and elimination of chemicals used on the grass. We spread Love your soil along with composted manure on beds and the grass surrounding the house several years ago. That grass is now thick and green and looks great -- we don't do anything to it except keep it cut (we never water either). So do the flower beds, but you can readily see a huge improvement with the grass since it's way too pricey to use in the 1/2 acre back field which remains thin and struggling. It improves the actual soil and keeps working over the years. So, if you want to kill the grass like I do, don't use this on it.

I moved into a home two years ago and the soil was lifeless. No irrigation at all (older woman owned the house and the suction pipe for the well was broken). After applying this for twice a year the soil came to life. Grass is growing nicely and is filling in.

I was using this with the recommended 6 setting for Scotts rotary spreaders per the bag instructions. It wasn't long before I realized the 15,000 bag would not cover my 11,000 lawn. I wrote Jonathan Green and they suggested a 4 setting. I still ran out of product, but would have probably been able to cover my entire yard with the 4 setting. One star off for the confusion. That being said, after applying this product in early May, my lawn looked the best it ever looked the remaining spring and was green pretty much until late July (in Virginia). I don't know if it was 100% due to this product or the late fall feeding I had done the prior year, perhaps the combination. Definitely a product I plan to use each year. Will pretty much replace my Milorganite applications.

Jonathan Green: and I am very meticulous, picky, and mostly displeased with everything else, now that I found these guys my lawn never looked better. For Long Island ny I over time switched my grass to their blue panther seed and my lawn looks great, like a golf course, long germination period but well worth it. Used veri green starter fertilizer, just put down summer survival and Love my soil after raking a bit and over night it was like a switch flipped. Went from bright lime green to dark blueish looking grass. A little expensive but worth it. I just ordered their wilderness grass seed, and top dressing for a flower box doing nothing atm. I will never use a different brand again. The only lawn on my block with a perfect looking bluegrass lawn with no burn spots as everyone else’s has at least one sun burn spot. Also uses their black beauty to fill spots which too looks great. I actually have people walking around my block and almost every time I’m out front someone stops me and asks about it. Or what’s your secret. I just tell them follow Jonathan green program and you too will be happy as long as you don’t have a full lawn of crabgrass or nutsedge, clovers, chick weed, or moss.

I can't believe this stuff works as well as it appears to work, but the proof is in the pictures. In the first picture, you can see on the left side the compacted ground next to the driveway where I have been having trouble growing grass, this is all starting to fill in. On the right side, the grass is lush and much thicker and greener than ever before. Ditto the rest of the lawn, trees and shrubs, all doing very well. I was skeptical and planning to rototill the compacted area to replant grass, but figured I would try this as a last resort. Hopefully, this has solved my problem. Very pleased, thank you.

I used this for fall seeding using all the products from Jonathan green. Definitely see a difference and new growth about after two weeks.

This stuff really works to loosen the hard, compacted clay soil that we have in Northern VA. For years I could not get the grass to grow consistently, and typically it would thin out and die by the end of the summer. Had a lawn service, did the aeration every year, brought in top soil, bought the best seed, installed a sprinkler system, but same result year after year. Last year started using Love Your Soil in addition to the Mag-I-Cal product and the difference was very clear within 30 days or so. Grass was much thicker and the lawn did not die out at the end of the season. It came back like crazy this spring. This year I switched over to using just Jonathan Green products (i.e., their New American Lawn plan) and the results continue to impress. A bit pricey, but it all works as advertised so I'm not complaining.
