I have used these for years as stand-alone litter boxes; they don't absorb and retain odors like plastic ones do and I recommend them particularly for kittens and young cats. We now have 3 Fully Grown Adult cats who like to spread the used litter as far as they can so I have gone to high-sided plastic litter pans and use these as liners which work wonderfully! I can scoop them daily which controls oder and replace them when they get too crusty. Good Deal!
