Question 1

How do you clean this little fish? Do you soak in vinegar and bleach like the rest of the humidifier? Or will that damage it?

Accepted Answer

Per the instructions of the user manual you only need to clean and sanitize once a week and never the fish EVER . U are not to use soap or any detergents. Just vinegar swish and wipe let sit for 20 minutes and rinse with clean water to get smell out let dry. THEN BLEACH . never together. Always always keep the manuals to products you buy and store them in a accordion folder to always refer to. The manual tells you all this and how much to use . 2 cups of vinegar solely for the scale buildup . And 1/2 tbs bleach to 1/2 of water . Never mix bleach and vinegar. You don't mix a base with an acid

Question 2

What is it made out of? Is it chemical?

Accepted Answer

Chris is trolling. The term he used—dihydrogen monoxide—means, literally, water.
di (meaning two) hydrogen molecules + mono (meaning one) oxide (meaning oxygen) molecule = H2O, which is the chemical shorthand for water, which most of us are familiar with.
“Dihydrogen monoxide parody”
“ The dihydrogen monoxide parody involves calling water by an unfamiliar chemical name, most often "dihydrogen monoxide", and listing some of water's properties in a particularly alarming manner, such as accelerating corrosion and causing suffocation.” Wikipedia

Don’t try to breathe the water in a humidifier (or drink it, for that matter), and you’ll be okay

Question 3

Does this fish clink or make any noise if it hits the side of the tank and disturb light sleepers?

Accepted Answer

The fish hardly moves unless you shake the tank, I don’t think it would make a sound louder than the blowing of the humidifier.

Question 4

Can you put this in a dehumidifier? They get so scummy!

Accepted Answer

That's what I was coming here to ask. I would think it would work the same way. I can't see how it would be any different.
