It took me a solid four days of searching for pendant lights and sconces across multiple retailers before I finally found this pair buried somewhere past page 40 -- it seems like 99% of light fixtures on the market right now are open-frame industrial cages for Edison bulbs. Open frame fixtures can look great, but for my living room I really didn't want to have to carefully avoid looking directly at the lamp or get stuck seeing spots for the next 15 minutes. The beauty of these little lights is that they have frosted lamp shades with edges that come below the bottom of the lightbulb so you don't get blinded by glancing at them. They are low cost, and don't look particularly expensive, but they work well and they're still pretty. They were easy to assemble, fairly lightweight, and the cord is long enough that I could hang them up near the ceiling. The clear/silver cord doesn't look distracting or messy against my light blue gray walls. I have them hanging from white-painted metal plant hanger brackets with a vine design, and I think the effect is kind of adorable. I'm using them in a living room with no overhead light, and two of these lights, with 60w equivalent LED bulbs, hung about a foot from the ceiling, and plugged into a wireless light switch illuminate the whole room quite well. After setting these up, I changed my mind about going through the hassle of hardwiring overhead lights in here.

I like the look of these shades. Yes, they are plastic but they look like frosted glass. Nice long cords so you can position like you want. Easy to put together, no instructions needed. Good price!

i really like these, they look good, you can't tell once up that they aren't glass.and very light weight. Don't look like plastic. The scallops are attractive. The switch on the cord is .handy. Super deal for the money. i have one over my bed for reading and one over my art table. i use 100 watt equivalent led light bulbs as i need sufficient light. The white cords blend in with the walls. i recommend. Four of them would look good over a kitchen island too. Can't find these in a store.

These are perfect for a place that doesn't have adequate lighting, but has a nearby receptacle to plug a cord into. The cords are super long, they are easy to put together, they are lightweight and hang up so easily. Nothing to it. This is the second time I've gotten lights like this, I love the switch on these and my other ones. They are easy to turn on.
