Excellent as usual from Sony. Mind the cage compatability!
The Sony ECM-B10 Shotgun Microphone has significantly elevated my audio recording experience with the Sony ZV-E1, delivering crisp and clear sound. However, it’s crucial to note potential compatibility issues with certain cages, such as SmallRig. Let’s start with the positive aspects. The ECM-B10 is a compact and powerful shotgun microphone that seamlessly integrates with the Sony ZV-E1, capturing audio with impressive clarity and reducing unwanted ambient noise. Its lightweight design complements the ZV-E1’s portability, making it an ideal choice for on-the-go videography. Now, the caveat. Some cages, like SmallRig, may not have accounted for the use of an external microphone like the ECM-B10. This can lead to challenges in mounting the microphone securely, and users may need to explore additional solutions or modifications to make it work seamlessly with their setup. Despite the potential cage compatibility concerns, the ECM-B10 itself is a top-tier microphone. Its direct connection to the ZV-E1 ensures a hassle-free recording experience, and the included windscreen is effective in reducing wind noise during outdoor shoots. In summary, the Sony ECM-B10 Shotgun Microphone is a fantastic choice for enhancing audio quality on the Sony ZV-E1. However, potential compatibility issues with certain cages should be considered, especially if you plan to use accessories like SmallRig. Ensure you explore suitable mounting options to make the most of this excellent microphone in your videography setup.

Great with the A6400
Looks great and better still records great sound! No wires (unless you have a camera that’s not compatible with the interface hot shoe.) Not cheap but I think you get what you pay for both for sound, quality and convenience.

Good with a couple of provisos
Works well for vlogging. I use it with an A6000, the zoom function does not work but the standard gun function works well cutting out a lot of extraneous sound. With this mic my A6000 is now my go to camera for video in addition to stills. A couple of bits of advice: 1. this mic must be set to off when you turn on the camera. The order must be camera on then mic on. If I don't do this the mic is not recognised by the camera software. If you do it in the wrong order just turn both mic and camera off and start again - camera on then mic on. 2. the dead-cat windshield does work well but needed trimming with scissors to stop the fur getting in shot. With these provisos, I recommend the product but these issues should really be dealt with by Sony asap.

Cannot believe it’s so small!
When it first came I thought I made a mistake but the audio quality is so crisp. And the fact you can use this with 4 channel setup in the settings gives you an extra 2 channels of safety meaning you can film more and worry less. Perfect microphone for general use.

Amazing tech packed into a small package!
This microphone is just amazing, for the money you are getting some serious technology packed into a super-compact device. There is obviously onboard DSP running very clever algorithms that do an astounding job at noise cancelling for all the relevant modes (of which there are plenty.) The actual audio quality of the mic itself is excellent, I've recorded everything from run and gun interviews (figure of 8) to orchestral concerts (in Omni) this mic is just brilliant for the money.... and it's tiny..... Thank you Sony!

Easy Audio
It makes everything easy on a compatible Sony camera. I tried various settings. For me it works best on auto volume with filters and attenuation set on 0 (unless the camera levels show clipping). I'll put a bit of filter and compression on in the editing software normally, but it's perfectly usable straight out of camera.

Insanely great. The new king of on camera mic's
I have tried pretty much every other on-camera mic solution and so can say with confidence that this is the new king of microphones I did so much research on this mic before buying, and bought it fully expecting to send it back but no chance. This microphone is quite simply incredible If you're thinking about it - buy it - try it. You'll see

Not sure...
Not sure about this one, overall would prefer a lav mic because audio just wasn't loud enough and background noise was an issue. If I was better at setting up and optimising the audio in software It may have been better as I am no master, but straight out of the box and raw audio was not for me.
