I often took my laptop to watch youtube/anime and it does get warm after a while so I needed something that would solve that issue. The fan is powered via a integrated USB cable that you can connect to your laptop so you don't have to connect it to a separate outlet. The blue lights are pretty cool and the fan can be shut off via a dial at the top if you are not using it. It also have a little plate at the bottom to keep your laptop from slipping down. Over pretty happy with my purchase.

I often find myself sitting on a chair beside my bed using my gaming laptop and when I would try to use the gaming functions, the laptop would get unreasonably hot. It is probably expected that you would use this on a desk, and it does that, but I have it lifting the laptop air intake away from the bed sheets. I can not even hear the fans when they're in operation and the total noise level is dropped because the laptop's cooling fan doesn't need to run as hard. I know the styling is a little extra, but I like the blue underglow. I am not certain how long the fans will last, and this does not strike me as a long-term investment type product. I expect it will last for the next couple school semesters, and at that point, I might be looking for a new laptop anyway.

I've never had to write a bad review before but have to on this one. It lit up all pretty when I turned it on but couldn't hear anything coming from fans. Had to hold it up to my ear and it sounded like it was on but hardly any air was coming out. Hooked it to computer anyway so I could control the on switch and air level coming out. I felt it today and it was hot with minimal air coming out and computer was hotter than ever. I am now back to old one that is not totally kaput yet. It works better than this new one. I'd have bought another of my old one but not on amazon any more.

I was a little skeptical when this arrived and one side was crushed in shipping... but all was fine. It seemed like it might be flimsy, but the engineering was solid. The motor that blows the air isn't loud ( I have noise sensory issues) and it keeps my laptop cool (the internal fan had failed). I highly recommend.

Mine has lasted 8 months. I'm now fighting with it to get it running, when I do work at home. The wheel to adjust fan speed never quite worked, so I think I've only ever had the 1000RPM speed, if it really gets to that speed. It is quiet, so that is nice. I definitely assists my laptop with its cooling, which is super important since MSI saved money by not placing too many fans in this laptop series. I'm looking at a replacement that uses a silicon/rubber seal that makes contact around the edges of the laptop, so that there is no lost air flow, escaping from around the sides of the laptop. This is nice as a budget laptop cooler, but you definitely get what you pay for.
