Merten & Storck European Crafted Steel Core Enameled Cookware, 6.3QT Stock Pot with Lid
The media could not be loaded. I really thought I was going to love this Merten & Storck European Crafted Steel Core Enameled Cookware, 6.3QT Stock Pot with Lid. I'm not sure how this is happening, is it happening while I'm cooking or while in the sick of dirty dishes waiting its time to be washed? I do cook alot, at least a full meal daily and I usually cook with either cast iron or enamel for most meals. I've never had a pot do this, so frankly I cannot recommend a pot that costs this much and is somehow destroyed within a 3 week time frame that I may have used 3 times. Wich is really disappointing!

Sturdy and Solid Pot, Heats Quickly and Evenly
This is a solid, heavy stock pot. It heats up well (and faster than expected!) and the one I received heats evenly. I tested it out with a batch of chili, and it did a nice job with it -- it kept everything simmering away beautifully. I would say it is equivalent to my enameled dutch oven in terms of the way it cooks and cleans, with the benefit of the glass lid that allows me to keep an eye on what I’m cooking without removing the lid. The lid is well made to keep the liquid inside the pot, and it doesn’t bounce on the pot or “spit” steam, which is great. The side handles and lid handle did get pretty warm while cooking, so use caution. I ordered the gray version, and I really like the look of it with the gradient smoky grays. Overall I’m very pleased with the quality of the pot. It feels like it will last a lifetime.

Induction compatible
This pot looks just like the photos on the product page, kudos for correct representation. The lid also has no steam hole so it will be great for steaming or cooking things like rice that need the moisture to stay in the pot. I have an induction stovetop and this worked great from my biggest to smallest burners, not something that can be said for all pots and pans that say they are induction capable. I’ve needed to replace my stock pot since I moved and now have an induction stovetop and this looks like it will be a pot to stand the test of time as it is good quality! Our first use went swimmingly and it cleaned up well. I look forward to many more dishes being prepared together! Thank you for reading this review and I do hope you found it helpful!

The Steel core does it!
This pot has become almost an every day item in my household. It is heavy weight, but not overly heavy. The heat distribution is very even I only cook on a gas stove and this has held well with it. In addition, it cleans up nicely, I do you hand wash the pot, although it does state that is dishwasher safe. I think another key component of this part is that it is oven safe. This is a great investment piece for kitchenware, and would make a great wedding gift. I believe this pot will last for years to come.

Love this pot!!
This is a remarkable pot! I made spaghetti sauce and had even heat with no sticking. The clean up was easy too! Holds enough for a large batch of yumminess or plenty of room for heating up leftovers. Glad to know it is oven safe as well! This has just become my new go to pot!

I bought two
I own two of the 6 QT stock pots, and they are excellent. They heat up quickly, I can use metal utensils, and I have yet to see anything even remotely stick to the bottom of the pan.I have only used them on an electric range, but they work so well on electric that I cannot see how they would be any less effective on gas or IR. In fact, I would expect better performance. The lids both seat securely on top of the pots, and they seat as securely when used interchangeably between the two pots. There is no steam hole, which I prefer and so you are in complete control of the moisture levels and there’s nothing blasting your range hood if you have one. I believe this is an important touch because the steam has a tendency to build up if I am cooking all day and it can eventually drip, and it will likely land in your food on the stove while it cooks, which is disgusting. These do not have that problem. The lid feels very sturdy and robust. The pot itself is very well made and feels substantial in hand. It is less weight than my antique French le Creuset cookware, which is very nice. It also seems to heat noticeably faster and more evenly. The pot responds very well to heat fluctuation and though it holds heat well and evenly while heat is applied, once the heat is decreased or turned off the pot looses heat rapidly as well. This is very good because it gives the chef greater control. That said the pot does hold quite a bit of heat once the stove is turned off and the pot is left full of food. It’s a very good balance and I actually found this feature to be impressive and unique.I have not yet used the pot in the oven and I may not. I have many other pots etc for the oven if need be. This is absolutely a joy to use on the stovetop though. I enjoy the sturdy feel, the significant but not excessively heavy weight of the pot and the lid, the handles are very well positioned and give you a sturdy feel as well. The food does not stick, I always use some olive oil though. The heat is transferred evenly and the pot is very responsive to changes in temperature. If you have the money, these are very nice to have.My only real concern is cooking tomato sauce or chili in these. These are supposed to be able to cook tomatoes without issue, but I am still skeptical. So far so good, but time will tell. If anything changes I will update this review, but if the review is positive then everything stated here still stands. So far I am very happy with these two pots and I would very much recommend them if you are looking for this type of cookware.
