Not as Advertised - Not Waxed
I thought this would be a great deal given the high price point for waxed thread for leatherworking. Sadly, like some other reviewers, I was made a sucker. The thread is completely bare of any wax at all. There feels to be some waxy residue inside the plastic bag it came in, but that's entirely the scope of the "wax" applied to the thread. It feels like they just rubbed a candle on the inside of the bag and then just dropped a spool of plastic thread in it claiming it's waxed. The thread itself doesn't even feel remotely quality. There is far too little waxy residue for it to have melted off, as I attempted to unwind it in hopes that maybe the outer layer had done so. No dice - the thread just isn't waxed at all.Just buy it from a normal merchant. I normally don't write reviews as I'm usually preaching to the choir, but this product is so far off that I felt required to before other people waste their time and money.

There is ZERO was on this thread.
This is NOT waxed thread. It's flat and synthetic, but not waxed. It frays easily and won't stay threaded, leather threading style, through my needle because there is not enough friction to keep it from going back through the needle. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU WANT TO USE IT TO SEW LEATHER...

Great value. Great product.
Mandala makes a great product. It’s great value for money. They have a large color selection. It’s great for the beginner as well as the professional. I can’t say enough good things about this thread. Just buy it and give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed. One side note. Some colors are waxed more than others. Not sure why, probably due to the manufacturing process. Some colors are very lightly waxed and depending on your preference you might want to wax a little more. I add extra wax to certain colors. Very easy to do. Just hold the wax in your hand and pull the thread over the wax while holding it to the wax under your finger. I actually prefer to add my own wax because some other companies add way too much wax and my fingers get sticky while I’m stitching. Adding my own lets me control how much wax is on the thread.

Kept snapping when pulling tight for tie dye
Maybe I'm just pulling too hard, but this thread snapped 3 times while tying a geode tie dye shirt. When doing this method, you must pull the sinew very tight with a dowel or wooden spoon. I have made dozens of these shirts before and have never had sinew snap. If you are gentle maybe this will work for you, but not for me unfortunately. Probably would be perfectly fine for sewing leather though! And it is still a good price for A LOT of string on the roll.

Purchased for hand stitching
Negligible wax. I could harness stitch about a dozen or so holes before the thread would break at the needle. It's Not durable and I'm not quite sure what I'll use this for....certainly not a paying client. This is a good example of what I wouldn't want and will not buy again.

Will buy again
First let me say I make holsters, knife sheaths and motorcycle seats mostly. This thread seems very similar to “Tiger Thread” (at a fraction of the cost) which is what I normally use and in my opinion is the industry standard. My only complaint is that it could use just a touch more wax but that is something I can easily fix myself.

Not as good as Tandy waxed thread
I was looking for a less expensive alternative to Tandy's more costly waxed thread. I liked the various colors not offered by Tandy, but this thread is not waxed as good as the more expensive brands. It's also not as thick as more expensive brands. I used this to stitch a holster, but ended up taking the holster apart because this thread just wasn't up to the task. This thread might be useful for something other than a holster

Worked for me
I know nothing about leather stitching but did watch a couple of YouTube videos about restitching an old holster - which was exactly what I wanted to do, This type of thread was recommended (along with a #2 Saddler's needle) and in about 2 hours I was done. Looks very good and I'm sure this thread will hold up better than the original 75 year-old cotton thread that had come apart. Did a simple one-way stitch all the way round, and then came back. Very easy to work with, pulled through the original holes nicely although I couldn't have done it without a pair of needle nose pliers. So, it worked well for me. As did the #2 saddler needles, also on Amazon.

Pliable and perfect
Lovely, soft and pliable material. Not stiff and waxy feeling like other waxed cords I tried. Perfect for beading stones. Would order again and recommend to others.

Para joyería no lo recomiendo
No me gustó. Se deshilacha. No sirve para joyería. No se puede anudar porque lis nudos se desbaratan muy fácilmente
