Buyer beware...Not actually a 2 Farad Cap. More like 0.2
I can confirm that these are NOT 2 Farad capacitors as one other buyer suggested. I have an LCR bridge as well as several other 2 Farad capacitors that measure correctly with my equipment. When I measured these I got 0.245 Farads. I ordered 10 of these an not one of them was over 0.3 Farad.

False Claims...
As with many car stereo capacitors, this one doesn't live up to its specification. I've measured several and this seems to be a trend that their capacitances are grossly over rated. The SUBJECTIVE: This capacitor looks to be of good quality for the price, and is substantially large and heavy. The FACTS: This cap measured 0.275 Farads. Yes, 14% of what it says it is.(The test method; using a laboratory constant current power supply, the capacitor was charged to 12V at 100ma. Timing this resulted in a repeatable 33 seconds. Calculating the capacitance from this technique is straightforward. Other methods involve charging at constant voltage through a resistor, discharging the capacitor into a second known capacitance and measuring final voltages, etc. Be aware most multi-meters are incapable of measuring capacitance this large.)

perfect.
There was noise on the 12V power lines in my motorhome that was confusing my automatic climate control, causing it to do strange things. Tech support said to put a power capacitor in-line to the HVAC thermostat. I installed this Soundquest power capacitor, and now the HVAC works perfectly. Further, each time the system turns on or off, the top of the Soundquest lights up and tells me the power going to the thermostat. And finally, the thermostat was only getting a little over 8 volts of power, with this unit it is getting in the 13s....perfect.

Big help~!
This is the first time I have put a capacitor on one of my stereos. Made a big difference, clearer sound and no more dimming headlights. Was pretty easy to install but this one was used and didn't have the mounting hardware and holder but I found a small fire extinguisher mount also fits this capacitor really well so I went with it. That's also why I only gave 4 stars, was a bit hard to tell if it had the mount since the original was clear, would have appreciated a note on that. Works well though and was cheap.

Nice addition to a Big 3 upgrade, otherwise band aid as a standalone.
Easy to install. Voltmeter read out is a nice touch. Helped my lights out a little, but would either need another one or do it the “right” way and do the big 3. I have a 5th gen Camaro and the battery is mounted in the trunk, so that means I’d have to spend around $100 to get the 0ga cable I’d need to run from the alternator to the positive post on the battery in the trunk. For around $30 this can’t really be beat. Sucks that the charging resistor, a little glass bulb, came in completely shattered and couldn’t use it.

Excellent product for the price
I charged this sound quest 2 farad capacitor for the first time on 11/27/2015 with a 194a light bulb (I lost original bulb it came with, but it does come with a bulb to charge the capacitor) took about 30 mins to charge from 0 to 12vdc. definitely does its job, this capacitor's auto power on and off feature is cool because I didn't need to go playing around with another 12v+ remote wire, and this way, it won't remain powered up when the input to the amplifier is at a low volume, not drawing much current, and the capacitor is not needed. I got the 2 farad capacitor for a boss 2000w monoblock amp pushing a 3000w @ 4 ohms wired in series to a 10" dual voice coil alpine type-r subwoofer (dual 2 ohm voice coils, wired in parallel=1 ohm, wired in series=4 ohms, amp only supports 2, 4, or 8 ohm connections, unfortunately, 1 ohm is not enough resistance for this specific amplifier) and my electrical system is VERY stable now, no lights flickering or dimming at all. helps my amp get ready for its next big hit by feeding it the power it deserves. It charges and discharges electricity VERY quickly, hence it's a capacitor and not a battery. Very good product, does everything I expected, came with some nice looking brackets to attach it anywhere. can't go wrong for $28 and change, it's got a voltmeter that's displayed as a red LCD, a little bright blue LED light on the top of it near the terminals, threads on the 6 point hex terminal bolts are pretty heavy, i have two 2 gauge ring terminals on each pole with 3 washers, one on top, one seperating each ring terminal, and one on the bottom, and I tightened the bolts for the terminals supplied by sound quest with an 18v milwaukee 1/4" hex impact driver...LOL. nice and tight. Plus, I've removed them to move stuff around, etc, and tightened them again and again, and there's a lot of threads on those terminal bolts. the only way you're gonna strip them out is if you're careless and keep tightening and tightening the bolts and can't feel the metal stretch too far then either you're going to ruin the the threads on the bolts (hopefully, if you're going to ruin any threads) or ruin the threads in the bolt hole on the capacitor, at that point, your only option would be to tap a larger bolt hole and use a larger bolt and hopefully there would be enough material in the terminals to do that, because it says clear as day, they do not accept returns involving damaged or stripped terminal threads, so be careful with those when you're tightening your terminals. but........ this is an excellent product. price is mint. functionality for a 2000w setup is perfect. auto power on and off is mint. looks cool, easy to install, initial charge from 0-12v is relatively quick, bulb to charge capacitor is supplied with product, and terminal bolts are good, as long as you use washers with your ring terminals making the connections so they'll stay flat and won't tweak your capacitor's terminal bolts. Hopefully my knowledge might be useful to anybody thinking about purchasing this product.- Luke (a.k.a. headthruwall)

This Capacitor did not solve my problem (Dimming Lights).
My amp's max power is just 1000W. This Cap should be able to handle 2000W, however my lights are still dimming with bass sound. Not recommended.

died after 3 weeks. tossed in the garage with other junk.
was hoping to use with a Tablet based car stero i set up and it shorted after 3 weeks. one day there was just a bunch of condensation under the plastic cap where the display & terminals are.
