Use this for backlighting in my home office as I am on camera for meetings every day all day. It makes a night and day difference and I get compliments on the regular. Even on my worst days, this light helps be look bright eyed and locked in without anyone knowing there’s a light stand just out of view. Game. Changer.

I was setting up a podcast studio and needed professional, lighting, but didn’t want to spend a fortune. I looked around and found this lighting, it sounded great and I couldn’t believe the price, it was far lower than I expected. The light arrived along with several others I purchased The quality is excellent. It took less than five minutes to unpack and get fully functional and it works like a charm. I couldn’t be happier…

Wow, so much better than I was expecting. This light is very bright, and is very easy to use. The China ball is also excellent and gives an amazing quality of light I wanted to still photos. Also really impressed with the included stand,, which is better than typical kit/sissy stands. Glad I got such a good deal and I continue to have a lot of faith in GVM products.

I compared this to the ULANZI LC150B 150W Bi-Color Cob Video Light and the Ulanzi was brighter at all color temps (I no longer have a light meter but am guessing by as much as 50% brighter.) Both lights have a good bi-color range and rendition. The light fixture is solidly constructed and should stand up over time in most use-cases. The included light stand and lantern are nice. The fan is audible at all power outputs, but it's not overly loud and I wasn't concerned it would interfere with my recordings. IMO a padded carry-case should be included in any light kit these days, but unfortunately there's not one with this light. The dangling power adapter on many of these lights is silly. At the very least, they should include a light stand clamp to hold the adapter. I've taken to making my own clamps. The Ulanzi LC150B has a built in adapter so nothing but the power cable runs down the light stand. I didn't try the GVM smartphone app so can't comment on that. But the Ulanzi has a separate remote control with a rechargeable internal battery which is a nice touch. I like the GVM brand and have a few of their lights. But the Ulanzi LC 150B is a good alternative esp. if output/brightness is your main concern.

Great light for your studio or project however I received the wrong nobs for the stand. I wasn’t able to tighten anything so unfortunately my light couldn’t go very high. Luckily I found some from old stands and was able to utilize the light. I didn’t have the time to send it back and get a replacement. Make sure to buy this light with proper time to check the nobs. (Nobs on the right are the ones I received in the photo)

Ich habe mich wirklich auf diese Lampe gefreut und brauchte dringend ein neues Hauptlicht. Aber leider enttäuscht dieses Produkt in allen Belangen. Die Verarbeitung ist äußerst minderwertig; das Material fühlt sich wie dünnblechiges Metall an, das nicht ordentlich bearbeitet wurde. Der Transformator ist zu kurz und hängt lose in der Luft, was dazu führt, dass er unnötigerweise am Stromkabel und am Stecker zieht. Der Ständer ist so wackelig, dass ich ihn nicht einmal aufbauen wollte. Den Lampenschirm habe ich noch nicht einmal ausgepackt! Das Licht ist sehr düster! Vorher hatte ich eine Lampe mit 150 Watt und konnte nie die volle Helligkeit in meinen Räumen nutzen. Diese hier fühlt sich höchstens wie eine 60-Watt-Lampe an. Die dazugehörige App ist wirklich schlecht. Zwar kann ich verschiedene Modi einstellen, aber es gibt keine Option für etwas so Grundlegendes wie flackerndes Kerzenlicht oder Feuerwerk. Nicht einmal normales Tageslicht oder Sonnenlicht ist verfügbar. Ich könnte noch weitere Mängel aufzählen, aber ich muss die Lampe jetzt direkt zurückschicken und nach einer Alternative suchen. Schade um die Zeit!
