Good product — A nightmare to set up
This device works well, but was a nightmare to set up and get functioning.1. You are first directed to download the Mimoodz app from, in this case, the iOS App Store. I searched every way I could think of, mimoodz, mi-moodz, mimoodz wifi. Nothing matched. I finally googled “iOS mimoodz app, and discovered “mimoodz WiFi” in the App Store. I fault the App Store for not showing me this, and Mimoodz for not solving the problem.2. Next you have to register. I entered my email address and a password eight times before it finally took and I was registered. I have no idea why it didn’t work the first seven times.3. I tried for about an hour to get it paired, over, and over again. The problem? There were no instructions anywhere to explain what to look for. It would indicate “success” and would go back to the devices list, and “no device discovered.” Over and over. Finally, the last time I sat there looking dejectedly at the screen, and the word “discover” turned green. Argh! If only they had indicated that.I would give it five stars, but for the frustration. However, you can probably get it to work somewhat faster after reading this.By the way, I have two Echo Dots, a Google Mini, several other smart bulbs, and Bluetooth speakers, and a group that I have set up with no problems at all, so I don’t think it’s me that’s the problem.

Some tips if you are having trouble setting up
Works great once you get everything set up. Setting it up was a nightmare, as other reviewers have mentioned. The instructions provided are not very good.I had to attempt to register in the app serveral times and it kept giving me a message saying error in registering. Then I force quit the app and restarted my phone and then the app let me register, the point is that it took several attempts.When adding the bulbs to your 2.4G WiFi network your phone must also be connected to the same 2.4G network. I tried for about a half an hour at first with my phone connected to my 5G WiFi network since the instructions don’t specify that detail.After connecting the bulbs to the WiFi network using the mimoodz app, you then need to go into the Alexa app and search for and enable the mimoodz skill and link your account by logging in. Then you will be able to control your bulbs using Alexa.I like that you can control the color being either soft white or cold white. I also like that you can control the brightness from 1% to 100%. The best thing about these bulbs is the price, they were $10 each on sale when I bought them. I bought two to try them out in the bedroom. It was very frustrating at first trying to set them up, I thought that I was going to have to return them, but now that I got them to work I’m going to buy two more for the kitchen.

Great smart bulb, however...
This bulb is fantastic once you get it to pair with Alexa. I tried for 30 minutes, and almost gave up until I remembered that all skills have to be enabled in the Alexa app 😒. There isn't one thing telling you that. For all who have an issue pairing, you must download the moodz app, add your bulbs THEN enable the skill in the Alexa app. I know I said it twice, but it's very important to know that. Have some syncing issues as well, but they seem to be getting less frequent. I also like that you can bypass the bulb and use the switch without it unpairing.

Works & looks great
This is the first “smart” WiFi/Alexa bulb I’ve ever purchased. I’d say this is definately a really great ‘First WiFi bulb’ for anyone. Once you get all set up, it works so easily & flawlessly. The instructions are a bit frustrating, ONLY because you don’t have a lot to work with. in the instructions, The company ‘mimoodz’ really ought to add more dialogue & specifics to the set up guide, the app is just not that streamlined nor does it have too many helpful ideas or usable tips, but, eventually you’ll get there, if I figured it out, trust me anyone can. Its as bright as the old 75W incandescent. You can put it to soft/warm light or cool/daylight white, and from the brightest setting, you can dim it down from 100% to 1%....either by using the app, or asking “Alexa”. And I actually tested to see if it gets dimmer from 10% down to 1% & it does. You can edit the name to whatever you want. Since it’s my first, I named it “the light”, easy enough, so for now, all I have to say is “Alexa, turn on the light”. It’s realky not a lot of money, I say go for it, if nothing just to get a feel for home “smartness”! It came nicely packed in a nice sturdy manufacturers box reminiscent of one of the well known higher up brands, w/ a little pamphlet. I would/prob will buy more from this company.

They just don't work!
Got these in June '18 just before I left for a five week RV vacation and could not get them set up in the app. Since I've been back I still haven't gotten them to set up in the app. The bulbs just blink while the app search for but never find them. The error message says "FAILED TO SETUP BULB 1006:out of time".The installation leaflet mentions possible problems with a radio frequency. There are no unusual items in my house that could be producing any "radio frequencies " that are not in compliance with FCC regulations. These bulbs just don't work and instead fixing them they just blame the problem on something else.

I love the fact that you can use this bulb without ...
I love the fact that you can use this bulb without a hub. I had my 11 year old niece actually set up the bulb (she named it 'eddie') - it was that simple. The bulb provides good light and it is easy to control with Alexa. Edited from 4 to 5 stars after a software update..

Worst experience with these bulbs
Set up was easy, but I’ve had the worst experience since. I’ve had a couple of weather related power outages since I got them. Every time the power goes out, the bulbs will go offline and it’s impossible to get them to go online again. I have to delete the device from the app and set everything up again. Recently they just stopped working all together. They turn on and off like a regular light bulb but you can’t control it with the app and the timer doesn’t work. I contacted the company directly and apparently you only have 30 days to test them out. If they stop working after 30 days, it’s not their problem.

Disappointed they are failing so soon after purchase
One of my bulbs "warm" function has failed. Now one of my bulbs mismatch from the rest of 3 in my bathroom. Disappointed they are failing so soon after purchase.
