Great nesting pads! Comes with ten natural fiber pads. Good appearance no odor to them and they are sized really well making them easy to lay in the nesting box.

**Update- Their customer service is fantastic. If you have an issue be sure to reach out to them. I think they are nice but the chickens don’t. I even tried fluffing them up for the birds but they still prefer the pine shavings which are softer. The eggs are cleaner on these mats compared to pine shavings. However they are more expensive than pine shavings but seem to stay cleaner longer. The chicken poop is easy to get off the mats which are a good size. I will be giving these to another chicken family and maybe they will like them. Be sure to open the box outside or in the coop because they make a mess. On the crafty side, they would make good chicken nest decorations.

My girls stay so clean, a pad will last 8-9 months before needing replaced. They're super easy to swap out. If I do have a random egg crack I don't have to toss the whole pad, I just pull up what got wet. These are thick and the hens fluff them up to get comfy. We're all happy.

Ok, so I'm still fairly new to chickens. My girls have been laying since late August. I do have a large rollout nestbox but not everyone likes to lay in it. So I added a few milk crates in the coop and I purchased these nest pads to place in the bottom of the crates. When I first took one out of the box, it seemed a bit flat but the fibers seemed to be soft and looked comfy. Well, let me tell you. The ladies love these! They can scratch around, fluff and shape them to their heart's content. After several days I can simply remove the soiled top layer of fibers (my youngest ladies sometimes wanna sleep in the boxes at night and of course...poop lol) and there is still plenty of padding left for them. My eggs are actually a lot cleaner and I notice less damaged eggs. I will definitely be purchasing these again!

I absolutely love these nesting pads! My hens refused to lay eggs in their nesting boxes no matter what kind of pads or bedding I tried. They kept laying their eggs outside in little nests made of dry leaves between the trees. I finally found these, and they were the perfect solution. My chickens started using their nesting boxes again right away. They seem much more comfortable, and the pads are easy to keep clean too. So happy I found these!

First and foremost, I'm not trying to be rude, but did anyone else notice the white Cornish cross (meat chicken) looking chicken they use on the box and in pictures looks like a young COCKEREL, not a hen. Poor choice IMO to be the poster chicken for this product. Face palm. It immediately gave me an ick that this company isn't exactly educated in chickens. Onto the review: I've seen loads of different varieties of these aspen material nesting pads. I'm not sure why these products are so expensive, I would truly appreciate if someone could educate me as to why. This company's price is comparable to other brands I've seen selling a similar product. So, I'm not knocking this specific company's price, just overall this type of product in general seems overpriced to me. I can buy an entire bale of hay for nesting boxes for $15 that would last me an entire year...why is this material double the price for way less product to last me only a few months? I received the pads in the mail, they were great quality and a generous amount of material was clearly used since the pads were thick and compacted. I took the liberty of deconstructing the pads, pulling them apart and expanding all of that compacted material. The volume of product was approximately tripled for ONE pad. In an effort to save money and stretch this product out as much as I could to make it last longer, I'll be filling my nesting boxes with the raw material I took apart from the pads. I'll add more material as needed, switch out as needed. My hens tend to like to make nests (instinctively) out of their nesting box material anyway. I don't know any chicken that would actually enjoy laying their egg on a flat pad. All in all, my eggs did stay cleaner from this material, and I was able to generously fill out more than one nesting box with the material I pulled apart from just 1 pad. The nesting boxes are now full of a nice thick layer of material and my ladies were happy to make a nice nest out of it! These are great for keeping out eggs clean - we live in a very muddy area and that has been an issue in the past. A little pricy, but they last a long time with our hens and they can’t kick them out of the nesting boxes!
