Juan Mesen and his brother Jorge each own small one-hectare coffee farms. Their internal drive and resilience boosted their Caturra and Catuai varietals into the specialty coffee market for the first time in 2013. While visiting a nearby coffee mill called Rio Jorco, the mill manager boasted of the Mesen’s hard work, potential, and resolve. Taking the recommendation to heart we requested samples to cup, brew, and cup again, only to be rewarded with deliciousness at every point and have never looked back. We’re honored to offer this year’s harvest from Juan Mesen’s Los Nacientes. This fully washed coffee has flavor notes of meyer lemon, honey graham, & turbinado sugar.
