Much better than the Knox I've been using all my life
I'm sold. The gelatin I've used for decades, the ubiquitous Knox, from pig collagen, is difficult to melt evenly and has an unpleasant odor to the pure powder, but this fish gelatin is more homogenous fine powder, melts easily and evenly, odor free, and being from fish means that religious Jews and Muslims can eat dishes that incorporate it.

High quality kosher gelatin powder
I attended a cooking class taught by a professional chef and this is the gelatin powder that she uses and recommends. I keep a kosher kitchen, so the kosher certification is needed and it also needs to be "parve" so that it can be used with either dairy products or for a dish that is being served at a meat meal. I have used it to make a panna cotta. It blooms and thickens very nicely.

Works Like Regular Gelatin - No Fishiness
I’ve purchased multiple times and used for panna cotta. Excellent quality and there is no fishy taste for those that are concerned.

Nothing fishy here
Works great! Smells like nothing when you dissolve it, unlike supermarket gelatin, which smells disgusting at this stage. I got it because it's kosher, but I guess it wouldn't be great for people with a fish allergy. You just can't please everyone.

This Gelatin worked great for a homemade gummy bear recipe!
I used this fish gelatin to make my own gummy bears for my son. Regular gummy bears have terrible ingredients, so I wanted to try making my own! I used a silicone mold and they turned out great! I am glad there's a fish option since the beef derived gelatin is creepy. My son told me they are "yummy" and I agree! Very tasty. I was worried they'd taste fishy, but not at all. :) These recipes are courtesy of DIYNatural.com and I used a bag of frozen berries, with just the raspberry, cherry and blueberries picked out to puree in my Ninja mixer. It made just under 2/3 cup of fruit puree and I used 3 tablespoons of this fish gelatin powder (stirring like mad with a whisk so it would not clump over low-med heat!) This gelatin setup perfectly! I put them in the fridge for 2 hours vs. freezer for 20-30 mins. Next time, I will try the orange recipe. Note: The package of fish gelatin is very small. I might have enough in the bag to make 1/2 a recipe, or maybe 1 more batch. I need to measure the rest, but it doesn't seem like I have 3 tablespoons left to make a full batch. Half a batch is fine though because I only have one gummy bear mold. I used the overflow to pour into some heart shaped molds to use the excess fruit mixture. ** I used the blueberry recipe, even though I had a medley of berries/cherries and I substituted some organic lime juice instead of lemon juice. Orange Gummy Bears 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 2 tablespoons honey 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin gummy bear silicone mold Strawberry Gummy Bears ' cup pureed strawberries (make sure they’re thawed to room temp if using frozen) ' cup filtered water 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 2 tablespoons honey 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin gummy bear silicone mold Blueberry Gummy Bears ½ cup pureed blueberries (allow to thaw to room temp if using frozen) ½ cup filtered water 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 3 tablespoons honey 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin gummy bear silicone mold Directions Combine all ingredients except gelatin in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir with a whisk. Gradually whisk gelatin into the mixture, stirring constantly. (Avoid dumping gelatin into pan all at once, which will cause big globs of gelatin to remain in finished product.) Continue heating over medium-low heat until all ingredients are well combined and gelatin is completely melted. (The mixture will change from a grainy, jelly-like consistency to a more glassy, smooth consistency when gelatin is all melted.) Place gummy bear mold on a cookie sheet (which makes it easier to move without spilling once filled). Pour mixture into silicone mold and place in freezer for about 20-30 minutes. Pop gummy bears out of mold and store in an airtight container. They will keep in the refrigerator for a few weeks. Note: You can also pour mixture into a baking dish greased with coconut oil if you don’t have silicone molds. After mixture is set up, cut with a knife or use cookie cutters to make any shape you like. To be helpful, I'll post photos of my gummy bear experiment. :)

I just got this product today, and it really wasn't what I was expecting... It worked just fine, and I'm quite happy because of that, but there is an awful smell from the gelatin, and I'm not quite sure why. I read one of the reviews and someone says that there is no fish smell from it, but mines had a really terrible smell. And because of the smell, it ruined my whole product that I was making. Quite honestly, I'm very disappointed... I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or something, but I don't think I'd buy this gelatin again.

It’s gelatin
It is, in fact, pure fish gelatin powder. If you want it, and have a use for it, go for it.

Really liked this
I really liked this. It just came in such a small bag, I purchased Bovine Gelatin for the next round. But this was way more delicious, and it came in tiny little beadlike structures which made my iced Matcha like a bubble drink.
