WF-2950: Easy setup, no issues, I’m impressed
Arrived yesterday so this is an early review. Will update if I have any issues within the next 6 months.I chose this model printer primarily due to the relative few bad reviews, size, price, Apple AirPrint compatibility and next day delivery as I have urgent docs to sign and post asap. Epsom market this model as a small business printer, not in their home printer range so I expect it to be more durable. So far I’m not disappointed .From unboxing to printing my first document it took just under an hour. The setup was easy, just scan the QR code to download the app then follow instructions on the app. Connecting to Wi-Fi via my BT router was quick and faultless via the app. Most of the time was taken up setting the printing quality but again just follow the instructions and all’s fine. I’m using the demo ink cartridges and laser A4 80gm paper from work, which seems to work well. The screen is too small for me to read the text but not an issue with my reading glasses which I’m always wearing when at my computer. It’s not touch-screen but the buttons either side are large so no issues navigating the screen to get to the functions and settings even with my fat fingers. It’s not silent but not so noisy that it would interrupt an online meeting. B&W printing isn’t fast so not useful for printing large numbers of pages unless you’re in no hurry. No paper tray but it has a paper feeder at the back which is currently holding about 30 sheets and looks like it can take twice that much. Print collector at the front is functional but flimsy; don’t let the cat near it.I have printed docs via Wi-Fi using both my iPhone 12 and HP Elite laptop without installing additional software.I have not tried the copy and scan functions yet so will update if/when I do. I’ve not set up the fax function as I don’t have a landline.First impressions are faultless and exceed my expectations. Finger’s crossed it stays that way.Just one thing I just realised while taking the photos; the Print Counter seems to count sheets, not sides, so if you print double-sided it will count 1.

Great printer
I needed a printer for all the photos of my children that I have on disc. It was fairly easy to set up with instructions at each step displayed on the panel. Unlike other reviews, I had no problems connecting it to the Internet, it found mine straight away. I found it easier to connect to my phone first and then add it to my laptop which was a breeze. I've only printed one letter which was perfect and one photo which I think is too light but I suppose it's trial and error with anything new, I will go through the manual as see if I can rectify the problem through the different settings. The ink cartridges are easy to put into place and are far cheaper to buy than some I've seen. I did buy an xl set of ink cartridges which were reccomended by Amazon at checkout for £15, although I've not used them yet as Epson reccomend that you use the ones that came with the printer first. Overall a great printer at a good price.Would I reccomend to other buyers? 100% yes.

Nicely designed reliable home office printer
Had this printer for a month or so and do far so good. It's a nice little compact home printer that scans and copies well too. Some may find its operating capacity slow if compared to a high end commercial office printer but for a home office printer used occasionally to print and copy documents it's fine.I set it up on my Windows 11 system very easily and so far as intant printing is concerned it worked straight away. The additional Epsom scanning software for your phone is fine but it doesn't work on desktop and their desktop scanning software is rubbush. I got over that easily by downloading an independent scanner app on my desktop which quickly solved the problem and everything is now set up fine. So far I have found it reliable and it produces very acceptable results, so for the price I would recommend.

Hold you to ransom buying only Epson ink with firmware updates.
Great printer but you are forced to buy genuine over inflated ink prices as the firmware blocks use of any third-party cartridge. Cartridge set is around the same cost as the printer. Epson customer service is beyond poor. They guaranteed to respond in 72 hours that was 2 weeks ago. My older Epson worked for years with compatible cartridges and I installed on a new pc and it updated the printer firmware. Now it's bricked unless I buy £75 genuine ink. Epson are absolute scam artists. " We recommend genuin ink" really means we force you to buy our Epson ink.Google it. Class action against Epson in USA for this.

This is the budget printer you're looking for
I've had 2 Brother MG series printer over the years and I just got it in my head that all printers must be rubbish. I was wrong. Setup is easy. The paper storage bin is ultra convenient and tidy. Using it is simple simple for printing and scanning. It worked on my Windows 11 pc which I then converted to Linux Mint and it worked perfectly on that too.

Pleasantly surprised
Pro: Very short time for 1st page to print after coming out of sleep mode. Which is great if you print about 10 pages amonth.Scans are fine.Cons: Found nothing yet. Will not comment on whether the installation is easy or not as it used to be my job to install stuff like this. If it would have been hard for me, I would have mentioned it as a warning to avoid if your IT knowledge stops with knowing where t find a power button.Only using it as a network printer\scanner so can not comment on the other connection options.Yes, ink is expensive but it has always been a race between saffron and printer ink as it comes to what would be the most expensive. Just dont calculate what a liter of this stuff would cost you.If you need a printer for sporadic printing, you could do a lot worse than this, I am sure.
