Haunted Nights: A Horror Writers Association Anthology

Do you like Halloween or perhaps I should ask if you like excellent horror stories? I do! This anthology has wonderful scarey, creepy stories that the author's wrote. I think the authors of these stories outdid themselves! I loved reading the stories in this book as it gives me a moment of time to experience a different environment. I don't know how Ellen Datlow collects and edits these stories but she did a great job. I'm sure her co-editor did too. The stories explored Halloween in ways that I haven't seen before. So good. Haunted Nights is the most enjoyable anthology I've read in a long time. I'll admit I'm a life-long Halloween addict, but these selections are no rehash of the classics, in my opinion. I'd like to give particular recommendations here, but every story is so well written,and the collection as a whole so well chosen and arranged that I just have to recommend this book as a whole. I bought it first as an Audible spoken edition, and was so enthralled that I bought the print edition as well; just to have it available on my bookshelf. If you enjoy Halloween and dark fiction, give yourself a treat and read or listen to this book.

You know a book, whether a novel or short story collection, is good when you wish there was more of it. Good mix of shorter and longer tales, gore and more subtle scares, and tales based in older times and traditions and in modern settings. If a reader can't find one or more Halloween tales in this collection to capture their imagination and get their internal Halloween fires stoked, then they lack both.

Always a fan of the unusual, I relished feasting on these Halloween tidbits, and was not disappointed. Tasty....very tasty. Enjoy.

Had a problem with the cd stopping and skipping, returned the item and almost immediately a new cd was sent out. I know the vendor can't fore see an issue with the product, but made it right in a quick timely way, the new cd worked great. THANKS

This was a Christmas gift for a relative and they were thrilled to start reading it.
