Columbia Women's Trailstorm Peak Mid Hiking Shoe

An enthusiastic “get these!” from a 40something woman with a bum ankle and some fashion sense.
I ordered a Try Before You Buy box of 6 pairs of hiking boots by different brands, and I purchased these because they were the lightest and most comfortable for my wide foot (they happened to be the most affordable as well). I sized up to a 9 (I’m an 8.5) so I could use insoles, and I still have room to wiggle in the toe box. The padding around the ankle is slightly bulky, but only when looking down on it, not from a side view. The white, sneaker-like sole makes them look more stylish than your average hiker, and I get a lot of compliments on them. I sometimes swap the red laces for black to mellow them out, but both look good.I’m recovering from a sprained ankle and mid foot, and not taking any more chances by walking or hiking in something that doesn’t offer ankle coverage/support. I’ve been wearing these for two months on neighborhood walks, short and long hikes, and a recent trip to Scotland where I was walking up to 10 miles a day up slippery cobblestone hills, steep stone monuments, and wet, muddy mountains. These shoes never let me down! Even when my feet were submerged in mud up to the laces, my feet stayed dry and the tread stuck to the terrain. I got the green boots with the red laces, and I styled them with wide leg pants and jeans and a trench in Scotland, and they just looked like the sneakers that all the fashion girls were wearing.I heartily recommend these boots! I have no complaints whatsoever, and am considering ordering a second pair in a different color just for fun.

Great Hiking Mid-Boot
Light-weight, great grey color and they are comfortable. Did a 4 mile hike up and down a mountain side and the shoes were great. They did not cause any issues like soreness or blisters. Highly recommend these mid-lenght hiking books for your next outdoor trip.

SO COMFORTABLE
i bought these for a trip out to california - we hit sequoia, kings canyon and yosemite. hiked a ton in these and they were so comfortable. my feet never hurt and felt like these had a lot of support and grip. they are definitely waterproof as well. highly recommend!sidenote: not a fan of colorful laces but was easily able to find a different pair on amazon that matched the olive green.

I walk 10 mi a day for work in these
I was worried with all of the reviews about the bottoms separating immediately as my previous 3 pairs of work shoes had this problem.I'm a mail carrier, I step in all kinds of mud, deep water, slippery moss, and I climb up and down stairs all day. These shoes hold up, they're so comfortable, and super light. I will say that the back heel sticking out a bit seems to catch on the back of narrow stairs, but it looks stylish. These shoes are worth the money. I could do without the hot pink little rings tho I thought they were red in the image... I had to sharpie over them lol

Very comfortable!
I bought these hiking shoes for a trip to Puerto Rico in anticipation of hiking around the island and specifically the El Yunque rainforest. I normally wear a size 8 but sized up a half size and purchased a size 8.5. Many of the reviews suggested doing this and I also prefer to put an insert in my shoe. These shoes were extremely comfortable. I normally have issues with arch pain and didn’t experience any of that. I am glad that I sized up as I had enough room for my insert and I can still wear thicker socks if needed. The shoes were roomy but not too big. I typically don’t buy Columbia shoes because they are normally too snug - my foot isn’t wide but they just don’t tend to fit right. These fit great. There were many areas of the trail that were wet, had wet rocks, very wet clay, etc and these performed well and my feet did not get wet. I didn’t even have to break these in. I’m very pleased and pleasantly surprised!

Hurt my right ankle
I bought these shoes to wear when we go to Alaska. The right shoe hurt my ankle. The rest of the shoe was comfortable and lightweight. I ended up returning the shoes. The left foot fit fine and was comfortable. Maybe it was just a fluke with my feet.

So happy with these boots! Waterproof and quality for the price.
Super happy with these. They come in half sizes and fit for hiking boots is so key. I wore these, brand new, for a 100km+ camino hike over six days. They were light, waterproof, and breathable. Good cushioning and a nice gentle rock to them. Very surprised with the quality for $100 but these boots outperformed my old $350+ boots I didn't have with me.*tip for breaking them in: Wear a liner sock, then a thicker merino wool sock, and spray feet with anti-perspirant (avoid blisters and find which spots might rub.

Animal leather, not so high quality
Despite the product description, the outer material is not "Faux Leather". It is a leather from animal. Unfortunately I did notce it too late to return and now I feel like the Flintstone when wearing those. Those shoes are really comfy and warm, but based on the looks I would expect much lower price. If you will have a look at the details, you will see lots of glue residues and it just doesn't look good nor high quality. I will get rid of those on first occasion.
