This is a great universal fluro wax that seems to work better for me then any other brands of wax that I have used. I have Hertel's "Super Hot Sauce" as well and can tell you that this wax does last longer and glides better. I have two snowboards. One with Racing FC739 and one with the Super Hot Sauce and there is definitely a difference between speed and glide. With board specs the same and weight of the rider close, my board with the Racing FC739 wax outran the Super Hot Sauce by a long shot, I just flew right by. So this wax is great if your looking for speed. One thing that I do during the season to reduce the cost is wax my edges and tip and tail with the Racing wax's since that's where the board contacts the snow and use the Super hot sauce in the middle. Results are great and it saves money.

I have been using Hertel wax since the early 2000s. I met Terry Hertel when he came to the ski shop I was working in in Truckee. We were using his Super Hot Sauce as our shop wax. It was a great universal wax, but when I tried the 739... Wow! My first outing with FC739 was on a fresh pow day. There was a quite a bit of "Sierra Cement" at Alpine Meadows. I was riding/boarding with a couple of Tahoe legends that day. After straight lining the the run from Scott Chair past Lakeview chair, I passed everyone, including skiers and boarders on "Ray's Run", which is a very flat cat track between Lakeview Chair and Sherwood. I made short work of the cat track and found myself waiting at Sherwood for the rest of the gang to show up. Great wax. I have worked in ski shops and have raced snowboards since the late 90s. I consider myself a sort of "wax connoisseur" I have tried everything under the sun. I race boardercross and thrive on the hole shot. I use Hertel FC739 as my go to wax to kick ass on everyday slopes or on the race course. After ironing on FC739, you will notice that it is on the firmer side when you scrape it. When it cools completely, and brushed properly, it is a very durable wax. No need to apply everyday. You will not have base burn in firm or corn snow after a few runs like most other wax. I would imagine if it is really firm/icy, you might have edge burn, but his will happen with any wax. If you have full on icy conditions, I recommend waxing down the edges with a pure cold wax and lightly warm scraping before waxing with FC739. This will help a bit with edge burn. FC739 is fluorinated and also considered an "all temp" wax. When racing boardercross, I do put an overlay on the FC739 for holeshots and quicker acceleration. I won the inaugural "Mad Cow Chinese Downhill" at Alpine Meadows running FC739 and an overlay. To this day, it is the fastest I have ever been on a snowboard. Overall, I love FC739. I've used Hertel Wax since the mid 80's. Started with Hot Sauce then moved up Racing 739 and White Gold (aka-Rocket Sauce). I've been using FC739 for many years. Absolutely the Best all temp wax and best value in ski wax. 3-4 days of New England skiing per hot wax job. I've waxed skis and snowboards for most of my friends and they love it too. One Brick will last me more than 2 seasons. You don't have to use a lot of wax to get a great wax job. Hot Wax with iron, Scrape, brush and buff with ScotchBrite pad or cork. Last winter was extremely cold in VT so I added a little bit of Cold Snap to the FC739 mix. Awesome. Almost as good as White Gold at -5-10 degrees air temperature for a fraction of the cost. BTW-if you're a racer (I'm Not), buy some White Gold. Use it sparingly and save the scrapings for re-use later on. It's expensive but, I bet, it'll rip seconds off your time. So fast and consistent. It's amazing. Terry Hertel makes the best ski / snowboard wax on the planet.

Highly recommend buying this wax. I like a lot of details when reading reviews so I’ll try to provide as much as I can. I have a family of 5, plus extended family and neighbors so I spend a lot of time waxing before and during winter. Due to the lower then average price for an FC wax I decided to try the FC739 and use it for all my recreational waxing this year. We will in Michigan and do most of our skiing at Boyne Mountain or Boyne Highlands. A mix of man made and natural snow. Now for the test results. 13 days on the hill so far and have not re-waxed yet. Application - i use a ski iron or will use a heat gun and then scrape the wax on. Using the iron the wax is seemed soft and to melted very quickly. I turned the down several times. I found that it melted so fast that i used too much wax. Find what works for you, I prefer to use less provided I know it’s spreading evenly. I sometimes let the wax sit over night and found that the wax came off fairly easy after a day. After an hour or so, it scraped off very easy. I would also add that that bases look very black and shiny as if the wax melted right in. May not add any value, but I saw a difference and wanted to comment. On the hill test days 1-5. We were on the for 5 days between Christmas and New Years. Temps ranged between -10 degrees and 16 degrees. And we had both powder and groomed days. This wax preferred extremely well in that entire temp range. Smooth riding no issues. If fact, the skis who are not that observant about how skis perform even commented that the skis seem to glide easier. On the hill days 6-10 - temps in the mid 20 degrees. Still riding smooth, no noticeable change in performance. The bases of the skis and boards are starting to show some slight whitening. I took a brush and cleaned the bases. The whitening is gonna and the bases are black again. Not as shiny as with the fresh wax, but still looking good. In the days 11-13. We had a January thaw here in Michigan, all the snow is gone except on the hills. Mostly man made snow. Days 11-12, temps 40 degrees, not really snow, but ice chunks. My kids called it snow cone snow. FC739 performed great again. No noticeable difference in performance. Day 13 temps dropped to 25 degrees so the snow cone snow froze and it was skiing on ice. No change in performance, but I would consider that day washed out and not worth the comparison. In summary: Smooth application easy to apply and take off. 13 days without re waxing with no noticeable difference in performance Performed well between -10 degrees and 40 degrees Great price point for an FC wax Not that I need it, but i am considering buying the Hot Sauce just for a comparison to the FC.

About me: An avid recreational snowboarder, been on the snow 20+ times this year. Ride a Burton Feelgood V-Rocker 149 (sintered base). I board mostly blacks, spend very little time in the park. I currently board in Utah, though I have also held season passes in CO in years past. Experience with this wax/point of comparison: I have boarded ~15 times with this wax, in temperatures ranging from below zero to 40+ degrees Fahrenheit, and in snow conditions ranging from fresh powder to slushy to dust on crust. I have previously waxed my board with various non-flourinated waxes including Dakine, Demon, and Swix Some were temperature-specific, and some were all-temperature. Pros - Performs well in a wide range of temperature and snow conditions--I consistently had the fastest board of the group I board with. In fact, the guys would normally beat me down the hill, but I'd pass them in the flats despite weighing less than they do. - Relatively inexpensive for a flourinated wax - Easy to apply--just hot-wax it on like anything else, doesn't require any special technique or precautions like some high-flouro waxes Neutral - Lasts 2-3 days, no better or worse than most waxes I've tried Cons - When it got really cold (<10 degrees Fahrenheit), I experienced a noticeable loss in performance. Note that the e-book available free on the Hertel website specifies the best range for this wax is >6 degrees Fahrenheit. The company sells a "Cold Snap" wax hardener to use with this wax for very cold temperatures, but I didn't try it. Summary: I am very happy with this wax. I will purchase it again, and have recommended it to friends. While I do enjoy waxing my board, I don't have any desire to "geek-out" on trying to predict the perfect wax combination for any set of conditions. I want to be able to wax my board for the weekend, then go out and ride. This wax lets me do that. The wide performance envelope is important in Utah, since the weather is a lot more variable and warmer than Colorado. If I was still in Colorado (where it is consistently cold), I would try out the company's "Cold Snap" additive.

Worked amazingly well

OMG.... This is super fast . I noticed the glide and the durability of the product at all temps It's a huge block of wax so will last long time well worth the money. Best used as a hot wax application but also good for rub on if need to touch up areas.

I've been ski racing over 40 years now and holding my own. Unless you want to waste $100 on some BS flouro powder, there is nothing faster than ironing in FC739.

Tried this wax on my Lib Ejack, very fast result, seems to hold good after 2 days in the slush in Quebec, recommend.

Dont look at the price, this wax costs nothing but works as well as an expensive LF one. Just give it a try, it doesnt disappoint
