What a great remote! It immediately paired up to my Apple TV and in fact works better than my old Apple remote. I can access all the different functions just like my old remote did and in fact it’s easier to use. I am so glad I bought this remote and I highly recommend it

This is a life saver for anyone with young kids. My kids wrecked the original Apple Remote so I had to get a replacement but I wanted something different for them that I didn’t have to worry about. This remove works right out of the box. It’s a bit flimsy but it’s so affordable. I highly recommend anyone with kids buy this for them.

"On paper", one premise of these remotes seems great - pre-program them for 100% of the devices they will support. This leaves the user suffering from what is ultimately a poor design, though. These remotes are pre-coded to operate Apple TV devices. Generally, that's fine. However, they lack a "Home" button which prevents some specific uses from being available... Notably, there is no way to bring up the app list for force-quit applications and there is no way to access the user / device menu in the upper right of the home screen. This means there is no way to switch user profiles, no way to access the Sleep Timer menu, no way to request a power off of the Apple TV itself, etc. The other thing that fails miserably in the real world is that ALL of the different TV brands that are supported are pre-programmed into the power, volume, and mute functions and all fire at every press of the button. this means that there are something like 9 pulses every time you press Volume Up or Volume Down making the process of actually changing the volume VERY slow. Since there is no way to operate the remote so that it sends the correct signal for ONLY the specific TV you are working with, you are stuck with this slow response behavior. Also, there is no option to choose whether the power button controls the ATV or the TV, so you are stuck either pressing both for quickest response or waiting for the TV to recognize that a connected device has been powered on as it does not send a wakeup signal over HDMI when you press the Menu button. Cheap, but you get (the frustration) what you pay for. Sent them back.

Decent quality. It works and it’s easy to program, but it feel cheap. The plastic feels like it could break if I squeezed too hard. Takes regular batteries, and they seem to last forever, so it’s very energy efficient. The remote control works well over great distances as well without having to be close to the Apple TV or pointed directly at it. It’s basically the same size as the original Apple TV remote, but a different shape. The buttons are similar as well, but not quiet the same.

Works as intended, but the product is really cheap made. You can feel the battery moving inside and the button are not that responsive. But for under $10 is what you get.

This remote is definitely not as good as the more expensive one for Apple TV. It is made of plastic and once I opened the back to put in the batteries it would not close all the way. The indicator light has not come on yet to let me know its working. I have to control the volume on my other remote that came with the TV. Also the fast forward and rewind is a pain to use as it FF's and rewinds slowly and doesn't show the picture of where you are, so you'll have to guess. Also does not turn my TV on or off - have to use TV remote for that. What it does do is give you an interim remote that is cheap until you can afford a better one. It will navigate the TV apps and let you navigate within the apps fine. It is limited but functional for use with your original TV remote to navigate streaming on your TV. If you can opt for the more expensive remote. Otherwise this is a fair one to have around in case your better one breaks.

This was a great replacement for the Apple Tv remote that my son lost. There is no programming needed. Just put in two AAA batteries, press the menu button to turn on the Apple TV and that's it. Great product for a much cheaper price than buying an original remote.

I took a gamble on this remote as a replacement for our Apple TV. We can never seem to find our remotes. They go missing all the time. I was enthusiastic about the remote immediately powering on my TV and controlling the volume without any programming at all, but the Apple TV functions didn’t work at all. I still had to power The Apple TV box and control it through my phone. I was disappointed so I came back on Amazon and read some reviews to see if there were any similar issues listed. I only read a couple of reviews, but didn’t see any similar issues. I decided to try unplugging my Apple TV for 10 seconds and then plug it back in with the remote to the Apple TV box. Everything worked perfectly once I did that! The remote is now controlling everything as expected!

this is a good little remote if you don’t want to use all of the features of apple TV. the only buttons that work are menu, the directional buttons, OK, back and play/pause. the volume, skipping/fas forward, channels, power and mute aren’t recognised by our apple TV (Apple TV 4K (2nd generation, A2169)). handy if you need a cheap remote in a pinch as no setup was required, just put batteries in and point it at the apple TV and it works.

Right out the box it works perfectly with my Apple TV 4K Model A2843. All the buttons work as in the diagram in the item description. I have the Apple TV 4K box connected by HDMI to a Denon receiver and the Denon receiver to an LG 4K OLED TV. The TV and receiver are also connected via HDMI eARC. I can turn on and off all 3 components with one button press and adjust the volume of the receiver with this remote. Exactly what I was looking for. Note the MENU button turns on and off everything, and the power button only turns the TV on and off. Very happy considering how inexpensive it is!

Optei por comprar este genérico porque não encontrava mais à venda o controle original do APPLE TV ( o meu controle deixou de funcionar do nada). Minha APPLE TV reconheceu facilmente o controle e diria que é até mais fácil de usar que o controle original. Satisfeito. Nota: note que é um comando universal, então nem todos os botões disponíveis serão reconhecidos. Por exemplo: o botão de liga e desliga do controle é reconhecido pela minha TV e não pelo APPLE TV.
