They grew
Planted dozen or so seeds in cup size transplant pots, had about 50% success rate.Just placed 1/8" deep, watered just to damp, set pots in potting shed in direct sun, temperature in the 50's, couple of weeks later had plants.Have lot of seeds to spare.

Let me count the ways ... (seeds)
The media could not be loaded. So far so good... I read complaints about the amount of seeds delivered by this company being less than advertised ( less than 5000 ). Liar liar pants on fire. Attached is a video of two old geysers opening the package on arrival. You count them... I'd be dead before I could. Will update this when we challenge the next adverse review claim we read.. they didn't germinate.UPDATE: There may have been a good amount of seeds, yet, despite we purchased special soil and containers to germinate the peppermint wannabe plants, to date, none of the seeds have been successful at their intended task, becoming living plants. Therefore, those who claimed the germination process was flawed ( bad seeds ) in my estimation have made a valid observation. One star will be given. 29 SEP 2017 to date, despite we have kept the pots that held the seeds moist, nothing, has germinated.Buy started plants from your local nursery - that is my advice. These specific seeds are a waste of your money.

It has not been the recommended time to expect them to sprout
Doesn't seem to be that many seeds. I planted them in cups with soil and continue to water everyday. It has not been the recommended time to expect them to sprout, so I will continue hoping for good results.

Patience is a virtue
Good things take time. I'll admit after reading all the negative reviews I was a little discouraged, but I finally have sprouts! It took about 4 weeks from the time I planted them. A lot longer then any other plant I have attempted to grow. I started some tomatoes, flowers, and other herbs around the same time and felt ripped off when the peppermint was the only thing not growing. I decided to do some research and found this is pretty normal, so I just waited. Sure enough every cup I started them in is growing finally! WOOHOO! Make sure to provide a stable temperature, and plenty of light too though, the seeds need the right conditions to germinate. GOOD LUCK!P.s- I didn't count the seeds personally, but I will agree that it seems like a lot less then 5000. However I do feel like it was a fair price for what I received.

Grows well, remember it needs light to germinate
Make sure to plant them in a pot unless you want it taking over the garden or wherever you are planning on planting because mint is an incredibly invasive species and will take over. Also, remember that mint does need light to germinate so I would mix the seed in the top half inch and maybe sprinkle a few seeds over the top then water. Takes a few months to get started but gives off a nice smell and can be used in cooking, teas, essential oils, ect... Also, the seeds are very, very small so don't empty the entire packet in one pot. I just took a pinch of seeds and sprinkled it in my pot and lightly mixed the top layer. P.S. it is stronger than spearmint

Germinated after 6 weeks of cold stratification
I had no problems getting the peppermint to germinate. I did cold stratify the seeds in the refrigerator for 6 weeks - I mixed the seeds with damp peat moss in a ziploc bag and stored in the refrigerator for 6 weeks. I think if I had to do this again, I would place them on a moist paper towel in a ziploc and refrigerate. After taking them out, I would place the unsprouted seeds in damp soil - either containers or a raised bed since these spread by roots.
