I am an apartment manager and work maintenance at times. I started doing plumbing and need a cutter for the PVC and PEX. I was a little concerned, as the price was so low compared to the big box, retail stores. I figured I would take the chance. I am so very glad I did. This cutter is amazing! The blade is coated with like a Teflon substance. This cuts right through anything. The jaws actually open up wider then most others I have seen. I would suggest this to ANYONE dealing with plumbing. I have already shared the link to 2 other people in our building and both have bought them. Thus works perfectly. It makes the job so much quicker then using a saw or even grabbing a rip saw or oscillating tool. I promise you will be very happy with this cutter!

I love the quality of these in terms of cutting well, blade is very sharp, ratchet works perfectly, etc. These are slightly bigger than the ones I usually see at even plumbing supply shops, which max out at 2".However, it's very difficult to get them to cut square. You can start nice and square but it kicks to one side front-to-back as it bites. The fixed jaw is angled in both directions, presumably to allow a maximum diameter pipe to open a little as the cut is made, but the angle is excessive. In my use the cuts were close enough, but a square cut would produce a stronger joint because there's more bonding surface.

Great for cutting rubber hose and PVC pipe. Ratchet action works really easy while making cuts. Nice smooth cuts. Comes with a deburrying tool for PVC. Good product will buy my son's one.

The media could not be loaded. This was a perfect combo of tools for my water softener installation. The pipe cutter cut through the ABS drain pipe like butter. The cut was square and smooth.The deburring tool made the inside of my copper pipe totally smooth which will help eliminate turbulence which I've read could eventually lead to pinhole leaks in copper pipes.For deburring the outside of the copper pipe, I used the SharkBite brand deburring and depth insertion mark tool.Tip - Be sure to clean off any paint from the ABS pipe before applying the cement and attaching the p-trap. For ABS pipe (usually black) you only need to use cement. For PVC pipe (usually white) you should use primer and cement.I'd also recommend testing the drain pipe, p-trap and stand pipe by pouring down a gallon of water before you continue your water softener installation.

Bought this months ago, but only just used it today, too late to return. Unfortunately, this pipe cutter does not do a good job cutting pipe. I tried 1/2", 3/4", and 1", all with the same results; very difficult to tighten the cutter on pipe and would crush more than cut the pipe. Used to have a smaller version that I got from Lowe's that worked great, went with this one when I lost my other one, but very disappointed. Maybe the one I got was just defective and not very sharp compared to others', but too late for me to exchange or return so I can only review based on the one I have.

This is so handy and works with very little pressure. Highly recommend.
