AstroAI Digital Tire Pressure Gauge with Inflator, 3-250 PSI ±1% Precision

I am really impressed with this inflator, especially for the price. As shown in the picture, it thoughtfully comes with several adapters, including a clamp-on adapter, as well as a valve stem tool and a roll of Teflon tape for sealing the threaded connections. It seems to be sturdy, well constructed, and is of a nice size, not some micro-mini, hard to handle or read device. It has a stated accuracy of 1%, which means that at 100 psi the true pressure may be between 99 and 101 psi. This isn’t bad, considering that your tire pressure changes by about 1 psi for every 10 degree F change in temperature. It can be used as a stand-alone pressure gauge (ie, not connected to an air compressor) to read your tire pressure, and it compares favorably (within less than 1 psi) to both another digital pressure gauge and an analog gauge that I have. Like most inflators, you don’t get an accurate tire pressure reading while actively inflating or relieving pressure in the tire. Especially nice and helpful is the pressure relief button on the side, which makes adjusting a higher than spec pressure easy and convenient. The only fault I can find thus far is that it doesn’t have a “hook loop” so that you can hang it or attach a hook to it, although this certainly wouldn’t deter me from purchasing it again.

I love this thing. For the $, hard to beat it. I would buy again without hesitation.

6-4-18: I purchased this along with another manual gauge type in order to make life easier to fill tires. I had a low cost stand alone digital gauge that kept failing. The unit arrived quickly with all the components. I was able to get it up and running quickly based on the feedback from another user: Use LOTS of tape. I believe they did not machine the threads to the correct tolerance so you need a lot of tape to seal the nipple to the inflator. Once sealed correctly it does not leak. I went right out and attached to my tires on my car - and the end leaked on me. I was a bit disappointed. I tried the other inflator on the same tires and it did not leak. I tried on 2 other tires, same result. I contacted the seller and was VERY please when they responded within 1 day and sent out a replacement right away! That one works well. So pros: -Quick, easy read of tire pressure across a wide range (from ATV at 3 psi to Truck tires up to 100+Psi - I do not have 200 psi to test). -Accurate: Mine was spot on with other gauges. I do not have a calibrated pressure gauge to know it's within 0.2 PSI, but good grief I bet you don't either. It was far good enough for what I needed. Someone else will have to review down to that level of accuracy with a calibrated gauge. (NOTE: if other sellers say they compared it to the onscreen or other gauge - I would immediately ask: How do they know that's right too?) -Nice that it comes with everything to assemble and go! a couple extra tools. -Feels robust -Runs on easily replaceable AA batteries -Love the ease and speed for filling and checking. It took me a few minutes to realize this can replace your normal tire gauge too...you don't have to be filling to use it to check pressure - doh... -great customer response! Cons: -Machining on the bottom threads is too big - may be a batch issue. the seal on them requires a lot of the included tape. Not a deal breaker just make sure you tape it up good and check it - if it leaks, take it back out and tape MORE. -Sometimes difficult to get chuck to seal on stem. I sprayed a little WD-40 into the end and blew it back out. That seemed to help lube the seal. Then NOTE: you must push the chuck onto the stem pretty firmly to get it to seal. If you do that it seals and works right. if you do not press very firmly it seems to leak. Maybe a slightly thicker gasket in that chuck would solve the problem. -It feels a little expensive at 3 10 spots. But it is slick so maybe not? - The chuck may not fit onto stems that are recessed into a hub cap or cover. This is common of all these types so not this product specific, but be aware a simple old style filler may be required on those to fit. We shall see on durability! I will update if I have a problem. Just to be clear: I paid the full price on this unit. I left a review because I appreciate the response of the seller and I think it's important to know.

After using the Astro AI Inflator I came away impressed. I read so much about the lock mechanisms being cheap and breaking but I did not feel that way after looking at it closely. Seem strong and would hold up. It simply a spring-loaded bar that uses the tire valves thread to hold it in place. If one wiggles it back and forth air will leak but one can always find the sweet spot that seals and allows one-handed operation. A nice feature is that it turns on as soon as pressure is detected so you don't have to manually turn it on. It also turns itself off after an idle period to save batteries. The accuracy was good although it read 1-2 lb PSI more than 2 other gauges I have but well within any reasonable tolerance. The display is easy to read with large characters and especially since it has a backlit display. The backlight is very handy on a dark night without any other light as it provides enough light to illuminate the tire and find the valve. I've provided a picture of the night illumination when I actually needed to inflate the tire without other light. It comes with batteries and these are AAA and easily accessed. It's a real treat to have a pressure release button right on the unit but if you want to release air fast it would be better just to depress the valve stem directly. There is no small protrusion on the unit to facilitate manual air release.

Works well when needed to check air pressure in my tires

Fantastic product! First off you do need an air compressor to use this. The compressor I have came with a standard set of tire filler attachments. I replaced the current car tire filler with the new AstroAI Digital Tire inflator and used it to top off the tires on both our cars. What a change!! Previously I would put in some air into the tire, then detach, hook up an air pressure gage to see what the new pressure was, then put more air in, repeat, repeat, repeat. Now with the AstroAI inflator I can see the tire pressure once I stop filling the tire without detaching. The spring-loaded catch on the tire connector works great. It holds the filler onto the tire stem so you don't have to constantly push the filler against the tire stem. It also connects much easier with virtually no air loss from the tire (unlike the old filler). The on-off air pressure filler switch also works great for adding and stopping putting air into your tire from the compressor. In order to get an accurate tire pressure you need to stop adding air, which is very easy with the on-off handle switch. During air addition to the tire the pressure reads high due to the higher pressure of the air coming in from the compressor. The air release button also works great. Filling tires is now 10 times easier, quicker, and far more accurate with this system. I used it on my bicycle as well. Previously due to the higher pressure needed for bike tires it was VERY difficult to engage the old filler onto the stem. I actually had to use a pair of pliers to hold the stem in order to push hard enough to put air into the tire. What a pain. The new AstroAI filler also works great here as well. While the spring locking catch didn't fully engage on my bike tire stem (the threaded section wasn't long enough), it still worked much better than the old system. Same advantages as outlined above for filling a car tire. I'm extremely impressed and happy with this device. 5 stars all the way.

My review of this product has two very different levels, and both deserve all five stars. Note first that I am NOT an official "reviewer" for Amazon, and I did not receive the item free or for reduced price. I just bought it because it looked like it would be good, and I was extremely satisfied after the small issue that has since been resolved nicely (see below). First: The gauge and its supplementary parts: Other than the aforementioned small issue, this by far the best tire inflator system I have ever used. I have used many of these over my more-than-five-decades of working on vehicles. This is the easiest to use system, is extremely-accurate, and requires the least effort. It provides several measuring system (like lbs/ kpa, etc.), provides a backlighted display, and is super-easy to use. Even securing the thing to the tire stem is extra-easy, and it remains attached until you deliberately release it. I wish I had bought this thing years ago. It is worth every penny. I did have a small issue with the product in that it had a very tiny air leak right at the chuck. Originally, I though that the leak was so small that I wouldn't even mention it, but I decided to ask the vendor about it. When I communicated with the company, and they agreed to replace it immediately. No hassle. Fantastic attitude. Like business was conducted decades ago when almost everyone was honest and wanted to assist the customer. As you can see, I am impressed with both the tire equipment and the vendor. Do not nesitate to do business with them. Again: I have no vested interest here and was not paid or asked to do this review.

Great quality, I used it few times now and its very accurate and easy to use. The price is good too.
