Impressive Blu-ray set with MANY bonus features!
Game of Thrones Blu-ray setI purchased this set to replace my Season 1-6 and Season 7 and Season 8 DVD sets. In what follows please accept my apology if I have recalled something incorrectly. I found the set excellent and worth the price of admission, but I’d like to describe some “interesting” features of the set.Realize that it is a huge set that includes 33 discs. When my set arrived I found that at least one-third (yes, about a dozen) of the discs were loose in their cases. I don’t know if this occurrence is a comment on the less secure Blu-ray cases (to me, they seem less so than DVD cases), a poor packaging for shipping job, or unusually rough handling during shipping. One corner of the slipcase cover was slightly “accordioned” but not very noticeable. All discs looked fine on inspection and all episodes (I viewed them all) plus all features (that I have viewed this far) have played without error.Obviously the video and audio quality far exceeds the DVD set that I have and that alone (plus having all eight seasons in one enclosed package) was worth the purchase. But read on, if you wish…The weirwood tree animation at boot up of each disc is cute though it sometimes doesn’t get a chance to actually animate each time (your mileage may vary depending on your equipment.) But the momentary static “languages available” image at the start of each disc seems a bit unnecessary and maybe even a little irritating, but perhaps some may need it.Drop down “house banner” menus are neat but they are translucent and so is the text on them so they are not easy to read over the moving video montage that is presented behind them. Also, not a big deal, but they retract after 60 seconds if not acted upon. Of course, you can open a banner again, but don’t be surprised if it disappears after you return from grabbing refreshment. All the original DVD extra bonus features provided are present along with several new features. Most are indeed “behind the scenes” video features, but some are text and still animation images, some are voiced-over by the characters (not sure these were provided by the actors or not) and some are just text you walk through and read. Nice extras but not as good as the bonus video features provided. The extra 3-disc bonus set is excellent with a two-part “Game of Thrones Reunion” feature, Anatomy of a Scene” (for Seasons 4,5,6,7), “Behind the Scenes” (for Seasons 1, 2, 4, 5), “Inside the Visual Effects” (for Seasons 1-7) and “Season 7 Deleted Scenes”. There are similar features scattered throughout the sets and I have not viewed them all…yet. The “Conquest & Rebellion” feature on disc 3 of the Bonus Features set is long (ten chapters) and yet quite interesting, though consisting of slightly animation-enhanced high quality static images and character voice-overs. (Again, perhaps not done by the actors.) Note that once you select a chapter the history continues to play through the following chapters unless you interrupt it (that is, you can’t play “one and done”.) I found it useful to have subtitles on during the feature. It gives a fairly thorough overview of the 300-400 years of history before the Game of Thrones timeline began.Starting with Season 4 and after “Dolby Atmos” audio support is available, although I don’t have the equipment to determine the difference. But the enhanced audio is certainly available. The Bonus Features set does not support Dolby Atmos (who cares?)The ability to walk through the Episodes menu and select any episode from the entire season then be prompted to insert the correct disk if the selected episode is not on the current one is a nice little feature. It is not available on the Season 7 and 8 sets for some reason.I am sure you will enjoy this entire Blu-ray set of Game of Thrones!

Great Collection
Great set with a bunch of awesome bonus features. The show still looks and sounds amazing. 5 stars for the set.The set I received did not have a digital code which, while I understand that depends on when it was manufactured, should not be the first picture you see on the product page.Overall great package. Just check with the seller first if having a digital copy is important to you.

Major functioning issues with the DVDs - missing episodes, glitching, no menu access
Unfortunately, a large number of the DVDs in this set have had significant problems.I’m only in season five so far, and I can’t wait any longer to write this review. I wish I’d had a warning before I purchased this set, so I’m leaving it for others now.Season 1 - Played fine for the most part. There was I think one DVD that never showed a menu (so no episode selection, subtitle selection, or bonus features possible), and only played the same single episode over and over, not the second episode that was supposed to be on the disk.Season 2 - I sat through every single DVD in this entire season (except for one) being pretty much nonfunctional. All of them had severe glitching and skipping to the point where about 95% of the show was missed. Many of the discs also had the same problem I mentioned where one episode played and nothing else was accessible, including the second episode on the disc. The discs weren’t scratched or dirty, they just didn’t work.Season 3 - much better than season 2, but still had at least two discs where the menu and other content wasn’t accessible and only one of the two episodes played.Season 4 - same as season 3, most discs played okay but more than one gave no menu access and only played one of the two episodes they’re supposed to have.Season 5 - I’m only a few episodes in, and already, once again, episodes are missing/not playing and the menu isn’t accessible.I’ve used a disc drive with a computer, I’ve used a PS4, and I’ve used a dedicated DVD/Blu-ray player. The same problems happened with every device. Also, while the DVDs came well-packaged—the set was in its cardboard sleeve, then shrink wrapped, then put in a brown cardboard box—but the cardboard sleeve itself was so fragile and seemingly time-worn that the sides started splitting before I even got it out of the shrink wrap plastic. The cardstock/cardboard holder for the DVD cases almost seems like it was weakened over time from heat or something. I’ve never had one so fragile before.

Great Series. Problem ID'd and resolved with the disks beginning Season 3.
I really liked GOT so much that I bought the series. The reason that I did not give this a 5 star review is that there were defects on some of the blue rays discs. I had to skip a small part of a scene in Season 1. But Season 3 and beyond would not playUPDATE: I bought the GOT series from another vendor after I returned this boxed set, but had the same issue with Season 3. My 2008 model Sony blu ray player would not play the blu ray disks after Season 2. It turns out that there was probably a format change to the GOT blu ray disks. When the same issue happened on Season 3 with another boxed set, I purchased a newer model blu ray player and the disks played perfectly. There was still a minor glitch on my Season 1 disk however, so the rating stays at 4 stars.

Marvelous and beauty !!
Upgrade to a 4K is my greatest choice for this beloved series ! Its worth every penny because I will watch this over and over again. The resolution clearer and additional Dolby Vision made the visual very pleasing and immersive ! Sound track also better. What more we could ask for the best show on earth in the best of its quality ! Packaging is great safely arrived to me in Malaysia.
