This is a really helpful tool to have to keep the cake buildup at bay. It makes removal safe and easy to avoid damaging the pipe bowl itself. Having multiple sized heads is a must since pipe bowl cavities vary in diameter and the ability to use successive sizes to ream out an over-caked bowl is an advantage.

Awesome product! Sturdy, no rough points, shaped very evenly and works well for multiple styles of bowls -even ones that taper down as it gets to the draft hole, like one of my savinelli's. Doesnt scratch the wood sides or rim, and you are able to use fine control using the handle or gripping closer to the tip.The small size attachmemt reaches the bottom of the bowl perfectly, and can be used to do sections of the bowl at a time before moving up to a bigger size.The set includes 4 reamer attachments and one handle. Materials are thick molded plastic and metal parts. The blades are fine enough to remove cake, but are not sharp so it's safe to handle by hand during installing/removing different sizes.Attachment bits push fit very firmly into a square socket in the handle held by friction, almost with a slight snap or lock in, meeting flush with the handle, and won't detatch unless seperated manually with moderate force.This reamer works amazing, built well, sturdy, thick materials, and I don't see me using so much force that anything breaks or cracks. Will easily last for years and pay for itself.I've used it on one pipe that I smoked daily (1-3 bowls a day) for 5 months before I even owned a reamer, and even though the cake was hardened, it was tough enough to remove the build-up very evenly, and gradualy without taking out chunks, digging into the bowl, or scratching anything.Highly, highly recommend to new pipe owners! Wish I had one sooner. Sand paper works, but there's not much room in my bowl to fit my index finger plus paper, sandpaper grips too much on the walls of the bowl (280 grit), and I always worried about scratching the upper rim of my bowl which isn't flat, but rounded/tapered. Sand paper still has its uses but I'll need to use it with a wood dowel or something so I can work it more carefully.This tool leaves a very even, fine finish on the walls of my pipe for touch ups every couple weeks or so, and can go right up to the wood of the bowl without digging into it.Also perfect for getting down to the wood on estate pipe restores, before switching to finer sand paper for complete restoration if needed.Using just the reamer by itself, I find it leaves just a hair-thin coating of cake and I can continue using my pipe without having to mess with the sandpaper at all! Can't say enough, get one and try for yourself!

Fantastic product, exactly what I was looking for... Different size reamers for different size bowls, a "universal" reamer set. This definitely helped bring back to life a few of my regular smoker pipes by getting rid of the carbon (cake) build up that was robbing bowl capacity.Fairly straight forward on use... Start with the smallest size and work up from there. Everything seemed to fit good and the whole set just worked. My hand got a little tired and I had to put on a pair of gloves to keep from getting blisters from the t-handle, but I also cleaned out 9 pipes in 1 sitting! Changing reamer size, the reamers stuck in the plastic t-handle and it took some effort to get them out. Good thing the reamer blades aren't sharp! That's my only complaint really, but that might have been my fault... Next time I think I'll get out my socket set instead of using the turn handle, it'll be a lot easier to do that than mess around with the plastic handle it came with, and the reamers won't get stuck in the socket (metal on metal), either... That aside, this is well worth the money and I'd buy this again.

This does a great job cleaning out the bowl. Hard to get the assembly to together.

If you smoke pipes, you need this tool in your collection. This product easily renewed my pipe bowl. Start with the smallest gauge and work your way up. The device works perfectly! The carbon cake was turned to dust, renewing my pipe bowl. Wonderful!!
