The 1st edition was a better book!
Apparently the publisher tried everything to preserve paper compared to their 1st edition of this book. This wouldn’t be too bad, however they not only reduced the font size but they also eliminated some helpful pictures. The answer keys to the questions at the end of each chapter is gone too. Some topics aren’t well explained, as they tried to keep it as short as possible. This makes understanding it harder. The publisher prefers referring readers to their website instead of providing the material in the book itself. This isn’t an ebook, so if you want to get a better understanding of what you’re reading you’ll have to go back and forth between your book and a web browser. This is not very time efficient, especially if you’re trying to study for exams and have little time. It would’ve been OK if they did it for supplementary material only, and not on the actual content. I also didn’t like the parts where it skipped explaining the material and the readers are asked to refer to another reference for that topic. I thought this is usually done if the reader is interested in further reading, but here they’ve missed explaining what should’ve been there... Like the 1st edition you’ll be able to find minor typos if you’re planning to fully read the book, but I guess they fixed the errors on some tables. Even though they made this edition more compact than the 1st edition, but the price is pretty high. They didn’t use as much paper, so one could expect a lower price. What I like about this book is the additional chapters on pediatrics and geriatrics and useful tables throughout the book. They also did a good job on topics where they fully explained the material and didn’t try to take shortcuts.

Missing student resources
I'm using this book in a class this semester. I have to say that if you're using this book, you're not in an easy class. What that means is that students can use all the help they can get with conversions of units, common acids and bases (if you don't want to burn anything down or blow it up it would be useful to have this handy), a periodic table, review questions, and mini-cases. But, Pearson decided not to give this to the student who pays $141 and change, and holds back these valuable resources. I used to think Pearson was top-tier. No longer. Pick another book that will help your students, PLEASE.

It would be a very good book if it wasn't incomplete
Answers for Mini-Cases, Chapter Review Questions, Checkpoints, Case in Point questions are NOT included in the hardcover book, you have to download and print them, if you want to study offline. I don't understand this business policy. What is the point of selling a printed book that is missing important chapters?
