My son plays high school rugby and has a rugby ball in his hand whenever he's not sleeping or eating, so if he thinks this was an excellent gift, then it must be good!

I would guess this is close to a size 3 ball. And the non-rebound side has the profile of a football. It rebounds surprisingly well, but it doesn't feel like a rugby ball. It would be perfect for quarterback throwing/catching practice.

This does precisely what you'd expect. No more, no less. Does so very well. Brought it to work on left handed spin pass, with a suitable surface to play against I can fire off hundreds of consecutive shots. Feels light compared to Std size 5 ball, but that's to be expected as half is missing!
