I give the book 5 stars because the book is very good for beginners like me. It did not contain the information I was hoping for. I looked on YouTube for instruction on how to connect my granny squares, but I do better with written instructions. The book is better for how to actually make a granny square. It has 3 ways to connect them, but I'm just not crazy about the finished look.

I'm very impressed with this guide because it started from basics of crochet stitches, so it helped me a lot since I'm a beginner on stitching.This book cover some basic stitches and techniques you'll need to start making granny Square .It also discuss about some popular methods for joining your motifs once we crocheted them .This book is geared towards the beginners . Its a great guide .

Not as helpful in learning to crochet as I would have liked. I had to go to you-tube to learn the basics and then go back to the book for it to make sense.

Images were blurred, little to no instructions. Quality was way below expectations.

This guide book in crochet would be very helpful for a beginner like me. It has easy steps and instructions on how to start and up to the last part you will be guided until the end of your crochet. My favorite part of the book is how to join the basic squares together which there are helpful pictures also.

If you are wanting to learn crochet then you can learn a lot from this author. I have a lot of Dorothy's books and they are all very informative and explain pretty much everything you need to know in an easy manner.Granny Square Basics is a good start for starting out in crochet and you shouldn't have any trouble understanding it all. Good informative book.

I knew nothing about crochet till I read this book. This book thought me about the crochet and the amazing patterns. This book has clear instructions for beginners like myself to get started with this and create beautiful patterns. I will definitly give it a go.

I really dislike the book (if you can call it that, it is more a leaflet). The photos are poor, the writing small, the explanations unclear. And the price ridiculous for what it is.
