Extremely Disappointed!!!
I was so excited to get this to put out front for the neighborhood kids. It arrived today and I couldn’t be more upset! The quality is frankly embarrassing. Not a single piece of it was good...there were scratches on the pole, the base was covered in dirt and had a rusty screw, the sealant on the base looks awful. The mailbox was poorly decorated, the door doesn’t close properly, the star on the door is broken. Also another rusty screw on the box. It looks as if it’s a used part that was used for some while. I will be returning with great disappointment. See attached pictures.

Perfect for decor or writing letters to Santa!
We used this for our PTO event “Cookies and Cocoa with Santa”. We had several stations set up and one was for writing and mailing letters to Santa. This box was very cute and added so much to this station. The box was good quality, packaged well to avoid damage and was easy to assembly and disassemble. There is just a rod that screws into the base on one end and the box on the other.

Colourful, fun and bigger than we expected.
This makes a fairly good decoration for Christmas and our little one loved the thought that her letter to Santa would not only go from this but that she would get a reply in there at some point. In terms of build quality, I am on the fence with this product. It’s certainly heavy and looks the part; it is easy to assemble and stands about three feet tall. It reminds me of the post boxes you see in America - and the colours have been chosen well. But we encountered a couple of issues: first of all, when we opened the front (hinged) part of the letter box to collect the mail inside, the door wouldn’t close back up. The corners of the post box had bent inwards and any attempt to get the door closed again only bent the soft metal in further. We had to use some pliers to bend the metal outwards again so that the door closed properly — which leads me to the second issue: the paint on the sharp corners of the box began to flake off in rather large bits! It still looks good and now works well, but I find it hard to recommend the product without mentioning the issues we encountered. Overall, it is colourful, fun and festive. So if that’s what you are after then you will like this.

Festive Flop
I wanted to like this a lot more than I do. I was expecting to like it a lot more than I do but I'm afraid that I'm quite disappointed with this from a quality point of view.Firstly the positives; the kids love it. Even though we are not putting up our decorations until the festivities are closer, we have compromised on this and it is currently stationed by our chimney in readiness for the Big Man.It is bigger than you may expect and, whilst I was initially wary of how steady it would be around a toddler, the base is heavy duty and this won’t topple easily – a relief given it is metal and reasonably heavy. It’s also very simple to put together – took all of five minutes.Okay, so, onto the not so good; I see the other reviewer here mentions having to take pliers to the post box in order to get it to open. We had the same experience as well. Though for us, a lot of the paint work was already badly chipped so the pliers didn’t make it much worse. At a glance you don’t notice the chips but anything resembling a closer inspection would soon spot them. There were also a couple of small dents on the body. This may have happened in transit but it was well packaged and encased in polystyrene which was not noticeably bashed so the implication would be that this occurred prior to packing. The tin holly leaves were also bent badly.Annoyingly, the base and top once firmly screwed together do not align. So you have to have either the top or bottom at a different angle. Not what you want from a product you would buy for decorative purposes. This would seem to be a design flaw.Disregarding the chipped bits, the paint work throughout is clumsy at best – and downright poor in some places.I received this item free of charge for review purposes but I can imagine that, if I had spent £80 on it as it is currently listed, I would not be at all happy. It’s very frustrating because this could so easily be a WOW item. It just needs better care and materials and a bit of love in its making. As it is, I'm giving it two stars – and this feels a bit generous. The kids do love it though.
