Soil in raised bed was noticeably cooler.
We had record high temps in Atlanta and my poor plants were struggling. I got this plus some bendable fiberglass poles and my plants seemed grateful. The clips that come with the shade cloth are hard to release after snapped together, so I used the green clips that came with the poles. The shade cloth is a good solution for vegetable gardens on scorching hot days.

My peppers and tomatoes and I truly appreciate this shade cloth
As a first-time veggie gardener, I was thrilled to watch my green bell peppers growing this year first season. But I eventually became disappointed with the brown patch that I saw on every pepper. I did research on the Internet and was happy that it wasn't fungus or something like that; it was only sunburn. That's when I researched the % numbers on available shade cloth and found that cloth that had adequate holes for air and eliminated 40% of UV rays but still allowed necessary sunlight was best for vegetables. As I understand it, it's not so much the heat but the UV rays that are troublesome. So Cal has two growing seasons. This second season (same plant) has been producing far more peppers than during the first season, and none of them has had sunburn issues. I simply throw this light "drapery" (feels a little like non-melting mesh plastic) over and atop the support surrounding the pepper and tomato plants for about four hours a day. Then I slip off this shade for the rest of the day. So, off in morning daylight till 11 a.m. or noon, on from 11 a.m. or noon till 3 p.m., off till the following late morning or noon. This "cloth" is so light that it does not break branches or stems. I'm glad, too, that there's no difference between using white- or black- or green-colored 40% shade cloth. I purchased black. Several years ago I used another brand in white over some of my other plants and the place looked as if I had small snow-capped mounds throughout summer. Black, on the other hand, gets somewhat camouflaged among greenery throughout the yard. Also, I purchased in "bulk" rather than grommeted pre-cut and bound sides. My containers are not near anything sturdy enough to tie to through grommets. I wanted to be able to cut difference sizes as I needed. I like planting in containers so that I can move them anywhere among other plants, making veggies a part of my landscape.

Gets the job done.
I’m using this shade fabric to cover some vegetables in my garden during a spring heat wave. Everything looks really happy under there.

This was better than I expected.
First it truly is better construction than the junk on the rolls and 1/2 the price of Ace.Secondly, I love the cool clips it came with. Works great
