Great Value
I bout this for $79 and I thought that was an insane deal. At $59, this thing is outrageous. I don't know why it's getting clowned on in this review section, but after using it for 4 months, I can tell you it's well worth $79, let alone $59. Positives: Solid color performance. Crisp 1080p resolution. Audio pass through is great for surround sound. Lightweight and easy to mount Works on 120" projection screen even tho max says 110". Even in eco mode brightness is not an issue in a dark room. Regular mode is good enough for a room with daylight from what I can tell. Has a USB port for powering your streaming stick. I haven't used the portable functionality, but I guess that's a cool feature to have. Negatives: Can't use speakers at the same time as pass through audio. Very rarely gets out of focus. Once every month or two. This could be because I have it on a cheap mount that isn't rigid enough. It is quick to refocus The built in smart functionality is useless, but just buy a streaming stick anyway. Built in smart features quickly get out of date even on the most high end of media devices. It's better to just upgrade these with a cheap new streaming stick. I can't get 1080p signal in on the USB-c, only 720p. Manual says USB-c is capable of 1080p so that may be an issue on my end/or an issue with the switch/switch dock I'm using. Unknowns: How long will it last. It's looked good after 4 months of regular use. An advantage to this projector over other budget projectors is that it is DLP, so it should theoretically have better longevity. If this lasts a couple years it's really a steal at this price. I've read reviews that updating it may brick it. Too scared to try. I don't even use the wifi functionality on it.

Worth it - don’t expect good speakers
Love the quality, design, aesthetic, and overall feel of the projector a lot. My frnds and I FLIPPED during the unboxing 💯 Comes with backlit remote! 🥹 Has a cool tactile power switch 😩 The sway on the projection flap is ACTUALLY sturdy and works shockingly well 🤤 Picture quality exceeds my expectations, especially considering the price.. BUT.. Being a fan of the speaker company and good sound, I’d say plz don’t actually buy it thinking it could even come close to serving as a BT speaker companion or actually deliver quality sound for your romantic movie nights since without an external speaker or headphones - there could be no distractive sounds 🙄 Long story short: worth every penny for this price - and looks devilishly stylish no matter where you put it. (Bought two more as gifts)

Invest in some type of fire stick screen mirroring is trash and there’s not enough apps
Very capable however the device needs a software update. It’s just some thing that need to be changed and also bugs need to be fixed for example you should be able to use only the remote for the twitch and Netflix app. More apps should be added to the App Store. Screen mirroring/air play fails to play randomly. I’m probably forgetting some but as far as the hardware the device could use more music control features for those of us intending to lean more towards the Bluetooth speaker side of this hybrid beast. Next and back is really all it needs and on board EQ would be nice. Oh also forgot the remote works with IR blaster and Bluetooth but it seems when you restart the system every now and then you have to re pair the remote luckily it’s fast to re pair it but still annoying. Never had a projector before and it’s not the best Bluetooth speaker I’ve had but it is a quality design and has promise if the developers have ongoing updates but companies rarely do that so I’m not going to get my hopes up.[2 week update] OKAY TWO THINGS NEED TO HAPPEN MORE APPS IN APP STORE OR TELL ME WHAT ACCESSORY I NEED TO DO EVERYTHING I WANT TO DO FROM ONE DEVICE. So tired of having to carry every device I own with me wherever I go just to watch what I want to watch. something you can't view through screen mirroring on iPhone so I have to is there a Adapter i can buy to make my Iphone and Macbook work no matter what i display on the screen? is there a way to keep the Remote connected through Bluetooth and not have to reconnect it randomly? is there a way to use Bluetooth speaker mode while still adjusting the bass levels like you can when in Projector mode? (Save power and have good sound). I know this is my first projector but sheesh i thought it was going to be much simpler than this. Once the expensive purchase excitement wears off you are left with a slight hint of buyers regret just because of the minor issues in the software. ALSO why hasn't there been an update in 4 months? so many units sold within that time you would think this company would care about making sure these little issues are not a factor so that the product can be recommended to others. At this point i would have you consider a cheap $80 projector and $100 speaker then buy a cheap $300 Samsung device along with $100 in accessories (screens and chairs for outside) and you might have a better experience than what this product is currently offering for the $600-800 pricetag.

Overwhelmingly smelly, but otherwise functional. Charges from USB-C PD!
The smell upon opening the package was overwhelming. Plastic, chemical, solvent, I'm not sure what to call it. Some of it might be the leather strap, but it seemed to increase as I first charged the unit so I think at least some of it is the electronics. I left it outside in the shed for a few days, expecting the smell to dissipate, but when I brought it back into the house, the smell was still so strong it would hit me in the face when I got home from work. I simply can't own something that makes the whole house smell like chemicals, so I'll be returning this. That's a shame, because otherwise it's a pretty neat little unit. I have to drain the battery to make it safe to ship back, so I'm sitting here playing with it, and I'm really impressed with both the image and the sound. It's not very bright, but you know that from the 300 lumen rating. The software has a lot of options, though unfortunately there's no D-pad on the unit that would allow you to navigate the interface without the remote. DO NOT LOSE THE REMOTE. THE WHOLE THING IS USELESS IF YOU LOSE THE REMOTE. And sadly there's no cubby built into the unit to store the remote, or even a pouch sewn into the strap. Oh, and the remote uses disposable batteries, despite the main unit being rechargeable. Another gripe is that the focus is really hard to adjust. Instead of a simple hand-twist lens like any sensible projector, this one has a tiny electronic switch that you have to twiddle, and the motorized focus always seems to overshoot. Even when you've got it dialed in just right, take your finger off the switch and I swear it moves again a moment later and screws it up. I've found that I can get it reasonably close with the electronic focus, then physically scoot the unit back and forth to fine-tune it. That's really stupid, how did they make this so bad? The volume control is just as laggy and awkward. It's like you're captaining an old-school marine vessel with one of those engine-order telegraphs and you slam it to "Astern full" and several seconds later, down below, an engineer notices and the screws begin to respond but you've already grounded on a shoal. Why can't the volume knob encoder drive some sort of hardware interrupt? Beats me. One bright spot: IT CAN CHARGE FROM USB-C PD SOURCES, which actually means the included power brick is still in the box because I've just been charging it from my laptop charger. That's awesome, one less brick to carry! (But then, why not make the included brick a type-C PD one? That'd be universal and awesome, but alas.) It'll draw 40-50 watts if 20v PD is available, or 35-ish watts from a 15v PD source. (But I can't figure out how to make it role-switch as a PD powerbank to charge my phone. The type-A port is a source but the type-C seems to always be a sink, and when I connect my phone by a C-to-C cable, my phone tries to charge the projector. Hilarious but useless. So I guess I gotta carry an A-to-C cable if I want to charge my phone from it.) It runs Android, by the way. You can sideload APKs by just dropping them onto a USB stick and plugging it into the unit. I'm not much for Android gaming but I sorta love the idea that this could be a self-contained games unit with a little work. Plug in a USB keyboard and there's all sorts of engineering menus to find! Including a fan override which is sweet so you can keep the lightsource nice and cool and prolong its life. (Or just kick into "high altitude" mode in the main menus, which increases the default fan scaling to compensate for thinner air.) There are test patterns too, which are great for aiming the unit flat and square (since the test patterns aren't keystoned), which minimizes image distortion. Obnoxiously, there's no way to set a zero keystone in the normal UI. Sadly I can't find the stock Settings menu which is a shame, because the built-in web browser would be a lot more useful if I could pair a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but I haven't figured out how. (USB wired ones work but who wants to be wired? This thing's whole premise is that it's battery-powered and wireless!) Display lag is super bad though, not suitable for gaming in the slightest, and even pretty obnoxious for productivity apps. The input video is clearly not being routed straight to the DMD, but captured and replayed somehow, and that sucks a lot. I used to use a small projector as a portable monitor, and this is really not suitable for that. And since there hasn't been a firmware update since 2023, I'm not optimistic about any further optimizations. (I'll come back and edit this if I have a chance to measure the lag.) On the audio front, it can act as BOTH a Bluetooth SOURCE AND SINK, which is awesome. As a source, you can watch a movie on the projector but send the audio to Bluetooth headphones or an external soundbar. Or if you're tailgating, PAIR IT TO THE CAR's infotainment and use the car's speakers while you watch videos! As a sink, you can use the unit as a Bluetooth speaker for a music player on your phone or whatever. I haven't found a karaoke mode but that's probably just as well. Overall, this thing is case study in so-close-but-yet-so-far. The lack of a remote cubby, or a full set of on-device navigation buttons, really kills the long-term value cuz you KNOW that thing's getting lost. There are some knobs but they don't let you do the basics (weirdly, they only let you adjust the ultra laggy volume control and the keystone correction, but not something essential like picking an input source), and the remote doesn't even have so much as a lanyard hole to tether it to the unit. The image quality is great given that it's only 300 ANSI lumens, but input lag limits its usefulness. Android bones with a Nomvdic skin leaves something to be desired, but at least they don't block sideloading. EDIT TO ADD: I FIGURED OUT HOW TO REMOVE THE SMELLY STRAP. The pastel knob-looking things on the side are not screws, they are NUTS for screws which are installed from the inside. Okay here goes: Remove the four black screws on the bottom of the unit and pry the front and rear trim pieces off. This reveals four silver screws, remove those too. Now the end pieces are only held on by clips, start prying at the bottom and they will come off. And there you are! Strap screws! With that, I can confirm that 95% of the smell was the strap. I'll be replacing that with nylon, adding a remote pouch to the new strap, and keeping the unit. Cancel my return, I'm keeping it!

Great projector for outdoor use
I’m very happy with this projector. The image is bright and clear, even with some ambient light, and colors look natural. Full HD resolution makes movies and YouTube look sharp, and the focus is uniform across the whole screen. The projector is quiet during operation and doesn’t overheat, even after long viewing sessions. Setup was quick and easy - connected my streaming device and laptop without any issues. Overall, excellent value for the price. Perfect for home cinema, kids’ cartoons, and casual gaming. Would definitely recommend.

A Beautiful, Yet Frustrating Projector
This projector is undeniably a masterpiece of design. Its retro aesthetic, complete with the prominent Harman Kardon logo, makes it a stunning decorative piece that truly stands out. It's the kind of device you'd proudly display. But Unfortunately, the projector's performance falls far short of its beautiful exterior. * Outdated and Sluggish UI: The user interface is severely outdated and incredibly slow. While YouTube is somewhat usable (though prone to freezing), all other applications are practically non-functional, consistently crashing or kicking you out. This makes the "smart" features largely unusable. * Lack of Essential Features: * Manual Focus: There's no autofocus, making manual adjustments a constant chore. * No Auto Angle: Correcting the projection angle is also a manual, painful process. * Non-Functional Chromecast: A significant disappointment is the completely non-working Chromecast feature. Despite attempts with multiple devices, it simply doesn't connect. This is a critical flaw, especially for those hoping to use it for outdoor movie nights, which was a primary reason for purchase. * Limited USB Compatibility: The projector struggles with USB drives larger than 128GB, further limiting its practical use and pushing it more towards a decorative item than a functional one. * Poor Battery Life: The battery lasts a maximum of two hours when streaming YouTube, severely limiting portability and convenience for extended use. Recommendation Given these significant limitations, I cannot recommend this projector, even if it were priced under $100. There are far better and more functional options available on the market.

But this now!!
Okay I am a long time projection enthusiast. I have over 30 years experience in home theater design, and movie theater design. Its more than a hobby. I have personally ran installation and calibration companies over the years. This projector is an absolute bargain. The design creates a vintage appeal. The sound quality is superb for anything remotely in this class. The image quality is top notch, seriously at this price poit nothing and I mean nothing comes close. I own anker portable projectors, and let me say they make an excellent product. But at this price point they smash the competition! Build quality is insane, very elegant, the interface is a bit sluggish to be honest and is its biggest drawback. It is not snappy.... but gets the job done. Enough review if you are considering this BUY IT!! Its truely excellent. Best deal on Amazon for a projector period.

A portable cinema on the go!
I recently discovered this sleek and portable projector that immediately caught my attention due to its compact design, which makes it perfect for on-the-go viewing or outdoor activities. One of the standout features of this projector is its ability to project images onto the ceiling, which is perfect for cozy movie nights in bed or for creating a unique atmosphere at a party. In addition to its ceiling projection feature, the projector boasts a 300 ANSI lumens of brightness that provides a clear and sharp image, making it perfect for movie nights. The built-in Harman Kardon speakers also deliver powerful and high-quality sound, eliminating the need for external speakers and making it even more convenient and portable. Another great feature of this projector is its compatibility with streaming devices like Roku Stick and Fire Stick, which allows easy access to favorite content directly from the projector. The projector is also smartphone-compatible, enabling the casting of content from the phone to the screen. After downloading the Remote Control App and connecting the projector and smartphone to the same Wi-Fi network, pairing is easy, and streaming of favorite content from the phone is possible. This projector boasts an impressive battery life, lasting up to 3 hours in projector mode and up to 6 hours as a Bluetooth speaker. With this extended battery life, it's convenient to take it on the go without having to worry about constant recharging. Although it may have a higher price point compared to other portable projectors, I consider it a worthwhile investment. Its outstanding features and performance, including the ability to project onto the ceiling, make it stand out from the competition. Additionally, the device's ability to function as a power source for other devices adds another layer of convenience, making it a valuable tool for those frequently on the go. Overall, I highly recommend this projector to anyone looking for a top-of-the-line portable projector that values portability, convenience, and versatility. It's a high-quality and reliable device that won't disappoint.

Good but not without its quirks
I purchased this projector/speaker for use in schools as I am often invited into schools to give talks about my job and I wanted a cheap, lightweight, bright portable projector that is easy to set up and if it gets damaged, I wouldnt be too upset. On these points the projector hits everyone of them and I am genuinely surpised at how good it is, especially at the price. I paid approx £120, and seeing as the projector originally cost £800(ish) it is genuinely a bargain. And the reason behind this cheap price is the reason I can't give it 5 stars. Sadly, it appears Nomvdic has gone bust and Amazon is clearing out its stock. Now whilst this gives great prices, it means there is zero support for the projector. This means the apps available are woefully outdated and things such as chromecast etc dont work. It also means that I doubt there is any help should you have an issue with the projector. To this end, I purchased a warranty from Amazon. You also need the remote control to use the projector, and so if you lose it or if it breaks, you then have a very nice looking brick! However, if you are looking for a room to room, cheap projector or bluetooth speaker, with a decent bright image and punchy sound, this is a bargain. However, as always caveat emptor!

Quality sound for an average room
Never used as a projector but sounds good as a Bluetooth speaker also looks nice and retro so a decent price for a branded portable speaker.
