Excellent guide To Living The Hygge Way!
“Putting some of the Hygge principles into practice can greatly improve the level of happiness a person feels as opposed to never taking the time to relax and just spend time with those they love.”Calmness, relaxation, contentment, togetherness, cozy and warmth all equates to what we all search for in our lives. We desire peace and harmony in downtime as well as home and work. The question must be asked can this fully be achieved? The answer is a resounding Yes! – if we follow the practices of the Hygge way. What an amazing book that Maya has presented to her readers. On the surface, it seems like a fast, simple read, but if one goes deeper there is a goldmine of treasure to be discovered. I found Maya’s writing style as one of a longtime dear friend as she shows us how to de-stress our lives. How-tos to simplify our homes, our work, create romance, relationships, attitudes, finances, holidays, even the food we eat, all to achieve the calmness of happiness in all areas of our lives. The changes suggested are not overwhelming, but very simple to achieve, whether you start with one part of your life or work on several at the same time. The minimalists are on the right track, however, I feel Maya’s carefree style with the Hygge way is the optimal in reaching that goal we all desire – the comfort of a warm blanket in everything we do. Highly recommended not only to read, but also to just try the 21-day challenge and be amazed at how beautiful life can truly be.

Very short!
I was very disappointed by the length of this book. It's no thicker than a People magazine. Similarly, the book seems to barely skim the surface of "hygge." I was hoping for a more in-depth coverage of hygge and Danish culture. Finally, the book is very anecdotal and appears the author uses very little research in her writing. Although the author does mention this at the beginning, I wish I would have known this prior to purchasing.

Perfect for a Hygge box gift!
This was the perfect book to introduce my friends to the concept of hygge! Concise and to the point. No photos. I made hygge boxes for gifts and everyone saw the book first and were very excited to read the book as well as enjoy the contents to experience the joy of hygge.

A cozy little book for a cozy little life.
The basis for hygge is "decluttering" your life; therefore, it makes sense that this introduction is a short and uncomplicated guide. If you are looking for a strict, heavy tome that will guide your every move into a hygge lifestyle, this is not for you. However, if you are like many of us, looking for kind, relevant suggestions and gentle guidance into a less complicated and more comfortable way of thinking, this book is perfect. I especially enjoyed how the author includes short and simple ideas to train our overly complicated brains into thinking along the lines of hygge! From clothing to food, this book will give you positive suggestions to updating your negative lifestyle into a world of comfort and enjoyment.

Great and effective read!
While the Danish concept of Hygge might not be entirely new to some, Maya Thorensen’s book goes into great detail about what it means to apply Hygge to all parts of your life - home, relationships and even work. The book’s tips are well written, detailed and extremely simple to follow. As someone who constantly worries about things, I was particularly impressed by the parts on self-care, particularly the tips given on how to practice mindfulness, gratitude and being kind to yourself. Many of us forget, in our constantly busy lives, to sit back and take care of ourselves, and Maya’s book was a great reminder on just how important this can be when trying to achieve greater happiness.I also really liked the parts on the advice given on decluttering. This reminded me of the concept espoused by Marie Kondo and definitely inspired me to try to simplify my own life using Maya’s book.Overall, a really simple yet helpful read. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like great, practical tips on how to practice Hygge (or even if you just want to know more about it!)

Read it Twice
I read this book twice and enjoyed as much the second time as the first. Well written look at the cozy, unhurried. relationship oriented, simple lifestyle that makes Danish Hygge so appealing.

Sometimes you just need to unplug and read a good book!
If you are interested in the concept of "hygge" you will love this book! It's an easy read, very informative, includes a lot of interesting ideas for incorporating more hygge into your life. You should try the 21 day challenge and some of Danish food and drinks what you can find in the book. I also think this book can be a good gift for Christmas.

Got my 99 cents worth; wasted the additional $2.00
It's a very short book (I read it in less than thirty minutes) and, surprisingly, repetitive. The book left me thinking that there's got to be more than hygge than what's covered in this book. It's also a professional editor's nightmare; not spelling, but sentences with rogue words that left me thinking, "Huh?" It reads as if it's a translation of the native language.Save your money. You'll find the same information online.

Badly Self-Published Leaflet
The writer claims that this is a 'book' but at just 50 pages long, it would be more accurate to describe it as a leaflet. It is badly edited, with terrible punctuation and lots of grammatical errors. I wish self-published writers would realise that an actual BOOK should be AT LEAST 50,000 words in length to qualify for that title and to make the writer an author. Sadly, this offering is unworthy of both terms. I shall be dropping this off at the charity shop asap. Don't waste your money on this. There are far better quality books available that have gone through the traditional publishing process and which explain Hygge with more depth and without blatantly 'borrowing' from more successful titles and then failing to reference those titles correctly. Inspiration is one thing, but this little hobby-effort verges dangerously on plagiarism. I've worked in publishing for over 20 years. This isn't how its done! Save your money. I can only hope that this 'author' hasn't given up her day job because a professional career in writing is highly unlikely!
