Merrell Women's MOAB 2 WTPF Hiking Shoe

Finding a comfortable hiker can be challenging. I hate doing returns, but my feet matter. I’m 64 years old and need a sturdy shoe for my trail walks. This one is perfect. Wider toe area without needing a size wide shoe. So comfy from the start.

These hiking shoes are great. Very comfortable and true to size. They making hiking a great experience. I highly recommend.

These shoes are great to wear and helped me survive 7+ days in Europe. Those whom have traveled to Europe know how uneven the grounds and road can be and how quickly the weather can change. These shoes were my go-to and all I wore since they were so versatile. So I did A LOT of walking in them. Hours and hours on end. Just like any other shoe, it takes some time to break in but once they are, they're pretty comfortable, stay secure, and breathable overall. They have survived all types of uneven grounds, rocky roads, gravel roads, dirt roads on a farm, walking in a city, rainy weather, cold weather, hot and humid weather, bus rides, you name it. Never had any issue and the drizzle mint is a good color. Not clunky or bulky either which is a bonus. And they were easy to pack in my travel cube shoe bag. The picture shown is from Skellig Michael in ireland where you're hiking up over 600+ uneven stairs up a mountain in the middle of nowhere but surrounded by the Atlantic ocean. You could easily fall off of the cliff if you weren't paying attention. These shoes helped me stay balanced and comfy during this hike. 10/10

I bought a pair of these in person years ago and loved them. The waterproofing is a nice feature for wet days, they’re comfortable, have excellent traction, and are long lasting. My treads finally wore out after 4 years of a lot of walking and I replaced them with a lesser quality hiking shoe. Big mistake because I had hot spots and blisters daily. I decided it was worth the cost to get another pair of Merrells. I could only remember that the store didn’t have my normal size the first time so I think I either bought up a half size or got a wide vs medium width. I did my best to read the worn tag inside the old shoe, but the new shoes I ordered definitely are not the same size as what I am 90% sure the old-shoe tag says. I exchanged for a half size larger which helped the length but then later decided they’re also too narrow in the toe box. I guess the old ones were wide width after all. I was a long outdoor wear into them before I realized it kinda makes my toes and ball of foot go numb as I’m walking. I don‘t love the fit and would exchange them again if I could. Next time I’ll just go in a store to try some on.

Second pair I've bought and I love them. Comfortable right out of the box. These are my everyday shoes. I have skinny feet, and the laces on these tighten down nice. Pretty light, breathable, and a great lug-style sole.

I ONLY write reviews when things are so terrible, buyer needs to be aware or when something is so great, buyer needs to know! This is a Great, need to know. I wear Merrell trail shoes to hike in. However, I wanted to do a 14er and I knew it was going to snow. I could not wear my traditional trail shoe because my feet would get so wet. I ordered this shoe 4 days before a 9 mile, 14,000 elevation climb. I know, not the brightest thing to do, but I was desperate. I did wear them a few times to try them out. I will say a few things. They are pretty light especially since they have Gore-tex. Many shoes I have had before are so heavy. They are not the most comfortable shoe ever.. BUT they do not hurt my feet which is great, because EVERYTHING hurts my feet, hence I usually hike in a trail shoe. The main point to the review is...Your feet will stay dry. I got them so wet in the snow and they remained dry and not cold. I was really amazed. They were not toasty warm, but they did not get bitterly cold. I hike 9 miles up in the snow. I was really shocked. If you are looking for a shoe to keep your feet dry, this is it. The video is not of me in my shoe, but I was filming right behind her and had this shoe on. I hate shoes. They bind and rub my feet and keep me from feeling the earth beneath me. I hate socks too, but this is a review about shoes. That being said, I'm preparing to walk the Camino de Santiago pilgramage across Spain, and being barefoot isn't realistic. After reading recomendations and reviews. I decided to try these Merrell shoes. My feet are a bit wide and the arches are a bit high. Size 8 is right, but I often wear 8.5 to accommodate the fullness of my feet. I ordered 8.5. Right out of the box, these shoes were comfortable, lightweight, and stylish. My first walk in them was about 4 1/2 miles, and they were great! Fantastic! While my friends are excited about Hokas, I feel a thinner sole is healthier for feet, and while the Merrells are padded, they aren't overly thick, nor do they alter the way the foot rolls on the ground, like Hokas and other thick soled shoes. I highly recommend these Merrells. Update: I am back from Spain and I've put well over 250 miles on these shoes. They get a 10! I had to replace the insoles, but I used off the shelf insoles and they were just fine. I put them through the washing machine (never the dryer) and they look nearly new again. There is a little wear on one spot where the shoe bends, and the soles show a bit of wear, but I have absolutely nothing negative to say about these Siren Edge Q2 hiking shoes. They were a great choice for my needs, and I will surely get more use from this same pair.

Moab 2s were a replacement for my Teva Arrowoods. I had high hopes based on the reviews but I’m a little disappointed. They have plenty of width but seem a tad short. A half size up would be too big so I’ll try thinner socks. Haven’t worn them in the rain but they’ve kept my feet dry through wet grass and shallow puddles. They are sturdy, well constructed and grip nicely over rough surfaces. Not much cushioning though. Once tied, the laces stay nice and tight. Unfortunately my feet get very cold in these, despite wearing merino wool socks. The temps have been hovering in the low 50’sF. I can’t imagine wearing these shoes in colder weather. Spring is right around the corner so I think they’ll work for spring and summer. In the meantime, I’ll be searching for a warmer hiking shoe.

I usually wear Keens and have done for years. I have a double knee replacement and need to wear supportive footwear which provides cushioning for the titanium prothesis. BUT I do believe Merrell's are above the Keens for their softer and gentler fabric around the ankle as my foot slips in. I do think I have now suffered from a very pleasant conversion.

Willkommen! Schuhe sind bequem, nur ein bisschen groß! 38,5EU wären genug gewesen. Merrell ist meine Wahl, weil es eine große Größe hat! Oder Schucheweit ist breit!
