Tablecraft Ribbed Glass Butter Dish

I know it sounds silly, but I looked and looked at butter dishes. I was somewhat hesitant to order this because of some of the reviewers saying it was a bit too hard to hold. I wanted something a little unique, but hiqh quality. I am now pleased with my purchase. This is obviously well crafted, heavy, and not prone to breaking. It holds two sticks of butter (we put one butter, one marg) very easily. It fits in our butter compartment in the fridge nicely also. As to my main concern pretaining to size being hard to grasp,as noted by others,we have not had that as an issue. My 4 year old can easily carry it and pass it, and none of the children have dropped it or lost thier grip. It is oversized, but that just adds to the functional aspect of it. I will most likely consider this brand before others for similar purchases in the future because it is a well done product.

I ordered this because I was frustrated with our old chipped covered crystal butter dish that would hold exactly ONE stick of butter, and not a smidgen more (so if you tried to add a new stick when you were running low, it would end up smearing all over the cover...consequently I would wait to add the new stick of butter until the old stick was completely gone, and then the butter would still be hard when I wanted to use it). I remembered my mother having an antique butter dish very similar to this Tablecraft one. The price was very affordable, and I am delighted with the product. It arrived safely (it was well wrapped with protective rubber corners). It will hold up to two sticks of butter without any of the butter getting on the lid. You can use it four different ways -- I even had my husband try it and he was impressed with the versatility and size. We prefer having the big part on the bottom, with the nested lid in the 'raised' position, for the greatest capacity and least mess.

I like this butter dish a lot. I just bought a second one, to keep a block of cream cheese in. It is the perfect size for that. It is nice and heavy, and attractive on my counter with butter in it.

Perfect for an every day butter dish. Butter fits nicely.

I got this for my wife. She loves it. It can hold 2 of the eastern butter sticks and 4 of these smaller western butter sticks. The only down side is that is needs a handle on the top. Something to grab the lid with to get the lid off. If you hands are slippery it isn't easy getting the lid off. Otherwise great butter dish.

Beautiful, robust glass that will stand up very well to daily use. Looks great on the counter. Perfect size for butter quarters. Love it!

I purchased this molded glass butter dish, which looks just like the image, to serve and store butter in the refrigerator. It fits together ok, there is a little more play in the lid than I expected. The problem with the dish is that it is very large. It will hold two sticks of butter, and perhaps if you stacked them then four. Since it is large, it's not that easy to grab off the counter with one hand, and it takes up more room in the refrigerator than we would like. Had I been able to determine that it was a larger dish from the product page, I would have chosen a different one. It is a decent dish, just too big.

This is a review for the 'Tablecraft Ribbed Glass Butter Dish. Great butter dish, large enough to hold 2 8z sticks of butter or 1 of the European butters. It is glass, no plastic, easy to clean. Can also be used upside down.
