Good product. pricy but much better material than cheap paper lanterns although the metal inserts are still flimsy. Also, got the white in the 14 inch but wish they had other colors in that size available.

Hung it in BRIGHT daylight all day long and it never turned on.UPDATE: while I waited for UPS to pick up the return, I left it outside and it took 3 days to charge.Also, please note that even the slightest ambient light will cause it to turn off. Best used in absolute darkness.

I had been closely watching & DESPERATELY wanting these 14" laterns for the past 3 years. But, as ideal as they seemed for my landscape, I simply could not justify spending an exhorbitant $33.64 plus tax per item, especially since I'd need to purchase multiples to display them as I envisioned. When I checked on them again recently this Spring and found them on sale for $20.00 a piece, I excitedly thought "finally, this is my chance!". Sure that I was going to LOVE them, I quickly ordered the last three available in the lime color and eagerly awaited delivery. If more had been available, I would have ordered at least five or six, since that was how sure I was that I was going to love this product. At $20.00 per piece, I thought they were still a bit overpriced but felt if they lasted more than one season, it would be no big deal. Upon opening the package, I was immediately unimpressed and rather disappointed since the collapsed lanterns seemed low quality & very cheap-looking. Also, the color was rather pale & wishy-washy. Though brand new, the color was what I'd expect after fading an entire season in full sun. Still, I was sure they'd have to look better once assembled. Sadly they did not. Then I told myself, of course they'll look better when lit, so I waited out the bad weather here for three days until they could finally charge in my window on a sunny day. I just knew I was going to love them once they were aglow so, once fully charged, I excitedly turned them on in a pitch dark room. Wha-wa. True disappointment. No, they did not look better lit, and actually looked even cheaper since there was one single point of unattractive, harsh, cold, white light glaring through the fabric while the rest of the sphere was barely lit. Not only were these lanterns cheap looking and unattractive, but I would be completely embarassed to display these in my yard. I am sure my neighbors would hate having to look at them as much as I would. I realIy expected & wanted to love these lanterns, and I will say that they were very appealling in the photos but they were the complete opposite in person. These are just cheap-quality, junk lanterns. Nothing elavated about them. Even the stitching on them was crooked, oversewn, and had tons of loose threads. The handle is nothing but a thin piece of unfinished, galvanized metal. These are just more junk from China. I wasn't expecting anything high end in a yard lantern but, especially given the price they regularly sell at, I was expecting some quality. The right price for this product should be somewhere around or under $10.00. Even the sale price of $20.00 is riduculously inappropriate for the product offered, and the regular price of $33 to $34 is nothing short of ludicrous! If you don't care about looks or quality, and you have money to burn, you might like these. If possible, I would have given zero stars.

This 14" lantern honestly makes a stronger statement in the garden.Appreciate Allsop continuing to improve their products.

I have used these lanterns for many years. As they are in an unprotected area I have to replace them occasionally. I have the white ones which when they light up at night are a light blue! Very beautiful!! They stay lit all night also! Still glowing until the sun starts coming up!! My favorite thing on my lanai !

I have had no other problems with products from Allsop=Disappointed and hopeful I’ll receive one that works!

The solar lantern looks great in my backyard. It is larger than the the globes I purchased last year.It is a little too expensive to buy another, so I will just enjoy this one.
