The Air Shield ultra-allergen high capacity merv 13 air filter provides supreme filtration for superior indoor air quality. It does a great job of capturing allergens like mold spores, pollutants from construction materials, lung damaging dust, pollen, dust mite allergens, most bacteria, Insecticide dust, smoke particles, auto emission particles, hair spray particles, plant spores, pet dander, carpet fibers, dog hair, cat hair, human hair, and more. A sample of these merv 13 filters when tested trapped 96% of large particles like pollen, 92% of particles like mold spores, and 46% of super fine allergens like cat dander in one pass. In addition to supreme filtration, the Air Shield ultra-allergen filter has a longer service life than typical air filters lasting up to 90 days. High capacity in pleated air filters relates to the number of pleats in like filters. Simply stated, the more pleats in a filter, the better air flow and higher dust holding capacity; it works better and lasts longer than typical store bought pleated air filters. This air filter averages 18 pleats per ft vs. 12 - 16 pleats per ft in most store bought filters. Merv 13 air filters are used when seeking led certification. After construction, before move-in, they are used along with outside air ventilation for about two weeks to flush the air of allergens generated from the build. Then, prior to occupancy, a new merv 13 air filter is installed. You may have noticed when selecting air filters at your favorite store that they are flimsy and can bow easily. Our filters are not like that. Every filter is manufactured with commercial quality. A bottom beverage board, tray-like frame is laid down, the wire-back pleated media is placed inside, then a the sturdy, moisture-resistant beverage board top frame is laid on top and glued to the bottom frame.
