BattleTech: Shrapnel, Issue #10 (The Official BattleTech Magazine)

Double the content this issue. I especially enjoyed the new game content, particularly, the tech readouts and Campaign Wolf Howl.

Issue #10 was an enjoyable read, worth your time and money. I recommend it to all BattleTech fans, veteran and rookie alike.

Bigger is not always better and this one proves it. For the most part average to below average stories. Wasted space with the “poem”. The beginning of the four part serial, parts 1 and 2, are a poor attempt to liken modern day politics into a Battletech story. Felt like the author was trying to get their digs into modern political events they disagree with. The continuation of the black Marauder story line was disappointing. It was slow, slow, slow, couple paragraphs of half hearted action then done. So much young adult writing with the new authors. Have to pander to the minority so no one feels left out. How about going back to writing good stories about a science fiction universe? Stop trying to relate it to todays real world issues.

I really like the collection of short stories you get in Shrapnel as well as new mechs and some interesting scenarios to play.
